Safety Trance Announces Debut Album sacrificio With New Single “duro”

Venezuela-born, Barcelona-based producer Safety Trance announces his debut album sacrificio, arriving April 30th via Club Romantico/Mad Decent. Alongside the announcement, he shares the new single “duro,” featuring Spanish experimentalist Nusar3000 and South African-Argentinian DJ and performer Kinara. Their playfully sensual call-and-response rides a richly layered blend of deconstructed club, dembow, and synth textures, channeling old-school reggaeton while pushing the genre forward. Amid the driving rhythms, the track evokes that late-night sensation when music pulses and thoughts drift to darker corners.

sacrificio explores the ritualistic catharsis of the dance floor. Born Luis Garban, Safety Trance transforms the club into a space of emotional release, where grief, desire, and darkness are transmuted through rhythm and sweat. Drawing from early reggaeton, witch house, Memphis rap, and contemporary club music, the album fuses dembow with industrial textures, trance melodies, and experimental hard techno, bridging underground Latin club sounds with darker electronic traditions.

The album moves fluidly between moods and collaborators: the glitchy opener with longtime partner Arca (“the beat drops”), sensual electronica on “most of me (is elsewhere)” with Eartheater and Sega Bodega, rave-ready club cuts like “no me quiero dormir” featuring Argentine pop disruptor Six Sex, and contributions from Lolahol and Mexican experimental trio Meth Math.

“Duro” follows last month’s single “except in spring” featuring Lolahol, a haunting track that first introduced the sonic world of sacrificio.

Safety Trance has carved a distinct lane in experimental dance music infused with reggaeton, drawing attention from artists like Dorian Electra and Sega Bodega. A key producer in avant-garde music, he operates at the intersection of two sonic worlds. While dominating the warehouse circuit as Cardopusher with industrial, techno-forward aggression, he has simultaneously reimagined Latin club music as Safety Trance, redefining reggaeton for experimental audiences worldwide. After crafting soundscapes for visionary acts like Arca, he emerges at the forefront of a new wave of Latin experimental electronica.

Listen to “duro” featuring Nusar3000 and Kinara, pre-save sacrificio, and stay tuned for more from Safety Trance soon.
