Westend is continuing his rise through the global house music scene with the release of “The Ceiling,” a high-energy new collaboration featuring Olivia Sebastianelli, out now via Experts Only, the imprint founded by John Summit.
Built equally for packed nightclubs and chaotic house parties, “The Ceiling” leans into the euphoric energy of classic party culture while blending modern tech house precision with nostalgic early-2010s club influences. Driven by rolling percussion, punchy low-end grooves, and relentless momentum, the track taps into the kind of reckless dance-floor intensity that defined a generation of festival and underground club music.
The song opens with an instantly infectious vocal from Olivia Sebastianelli, whose hook — “give me something to believe in, take me dancing on the ceiling” — immediately sets the tone for the track’s emotional and high-energy atmosphere. Her vocals glide over Westend’s steady rhythmic foundation, pulling listeners deeper into a spiraling rush of movement and release.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the record, Westend explained his desire to break away from the increasingly formulaic tendencies he was hearing across modern tech house.
“I made this because I was bored. Everything in tech house felt like the same record,” he said. “I wanted that chaotic energy back, the kind of stuff that was coming out around 2012 — fidget house records and when Project X was the biggest thing ever for a teenager.”
He continued, “I wrote this in London last December and after the first session called my manager and said I had a special one. When I sent a batch of demos to John he pointed out ‘The Ceiling’ and said the same thing. Every show I play it the crowd loses it even though it is their first time hearing it and that’s when you know you got a winner.”
Born and raised in New York City, Westend has become one of the defining names within modern tech house through a style that balances forward-thinking club production with the groove-heavy DNA of classic New York house music. His music consistently walks the line between underground grit and festival-scale energy, helping him build a devoted following both on streaming platforms and within club culture.
Outside of his production work, Westend has also become an increasingly influential figure within the producer community. In 2021, he launched the Kick & Bass Discord server alongside a small team of coaches, creating a collaborative space where hundreds of aspiring producers could share feedback, learn production techniques, and develop their craft together. What began as an online educational community eventually evolved into Kick & Bass Records, which officially launched as a label in late 2025.
Over the last several years, Westend has released music through respected dance labels including Catch & Release, founded by FISHER, and Experts Only, while also performing at major nightlife destinations such as Avant Gardner during events like Elrow NYC.
With “The Ceiling,” Westend continues proving his ability to bridge eras of dance music culture — channeling the wild unpredictability of early blog-house and fidget-house energy into a polished modern tech house weapon designed to ignite dance floors worldwide.
