“No, no! The adventures first, explanations take such a dreadful time.” With 60+ artists spread across five stages at Beyond Wonderland, there is no way you’ll be able to see them all… unless you are really trying to get your steps in. Every choice is an opportunity missed as seeing one artist means skipping another. If you are new to the scene, or maybe just looking for something new, here are the 10 artists that you are guaranteed to find me at (in alphabetical order). Also, check out the Spotify playlist below to get a taste of what they’ll bring!
Because… This dynamic duo will pull you in with melodic vocals entangled with heavy Dubstep. With a style that frequents the use of female singers, they tend to create a soothing intro that leads into substantial drops. If you’re looking for an explosive set, then you’ll find it here. Tracks to check out: “Crash 2.0” and “Limitless”.
Because…It’s hard to imagine Beyond Wonderland without having Alison be a part of it. With her rhythmically charged beats, she’ll get you moving from start to end. She’s one of the top female artists around and it’s not difficult to understand why. Tracks to check out: “I Want U” and “Peace”.
3. Andrew Bayer
Because… If you love Trance, then Andrew is the man for you. This Anjunabeats artist mixes smooth build-ups that swell and spill over with emotion. His deep sound will bring out all the feels you’ve been hiding away. Be prepared to ride that rollercoaster all night long. Tracks to check out: “Magitek” and “Tidal Wave”.
Because… A legend in the EDM world, he is arguably one of the biggest names performing this weekend. From funky beats to tear-inducing songs, he mixes them flawlessly. Having been around the world multiple times, we are fortunate to have him stopping here. Tracks to check out: “Satisfaction” and “Cinema”.
Because… If you want to know what Dillon is all about, just add him on Snapchat. He is ridiculously fun and talented. His style is hard to pin down, but House broadly captures a majority of it. Whether at odds with his alter ego DJ Hanzel or trying to keep his pet piñata Gerald out of trouble, he is always a helluva good time. Tracks to check out: “Get Low” and “Coming Over”.
6. Kayzo
Because… Looking to break the rail or your neck, then you are covered. Kayzo has aggressive drops, which at times become merged with a Trap background. You’re sure to hear a remix or two of a long-forgotten Metal song, and it will be heaven to your ears. The circle pit will be waiting for you. Tracks to check out: “Last Resort – The Rework” and “Wake Up”.
7. Mija
Because… Like me, you will be struggling to define the sound that Mija brings. Luckily, her self-described style is “fk a genre,” which sums it up nicely. She is a DJ that will keep you enthralled with femme fatale vocals and entrancing beats. Tracks to check out: “Salvation” and “Better”.
8. Seven Lions
Because… A DJ that you either love or love to hate, Seven Lions is able to bend the wall that that typically separates Dubstep and Trance. With his iconic flowing hair, he stands like a behemoth as he drops tracks of ice and fire. He may be what some consider too “mainstream,” but he is revered for a reason. Tracks to check out: “Island” and “Higher Love”.
9. Wax Motif
Because… Here is where you will find a bit of funkiness to the night. Having been a big contributor towards the G-House sound, you’ll suddenly have the urge to drop-it like it’s hot. If you are looking to hear something a bit unique, I can’t emphasize this set enough. Tracks to check out: “WET” and “Bunda”.
10. Wooli
Because… Having collaborated with Seven Lions and created an EP with Excision, even though he is frequently supported by big names, this mammoth can easily stand on his own. With an emphasis on DnB and Hardstyle, prepare your body for the speed of this set. It’ll have you jumping and moshing all night long. Tracks to check out: “Another Me” and “Psyclone”.
Not knowing the day by day yet, it’s quite possible some of these artists will be playing at the same time (which would be understandably tragic). In case of conflict, here are two bonus artists to checkout that hopefully will be conflict-free.
Bonus Artist: Ghastly
Because… Upon listening to the wicked sounds of Ghastly, you would have never guessed he grew up on a farm. Having electrifying sets that sometimes include an off-kilter monologue, his hard-hitting style is a pleasure to take in. Tracks to check out: “LSD” and “Shadow City”.
Extra Credit: Grum
Because… Another Anjuna artist, Grum will bring your feelings to their apex. Rhythmic synthesizers will have you wanting more and more. Don’t be surprised if the person beside you needs a hug at some point during the set. Tracks to check out: “Tomorrow” and “Price of Love”.
