After years of building one of bass music’s most recognizable sounds and communities, Tape B is ready to release his long-awaited debut album, Ghosts In The Static, arriving October 2. The 12-track project represents the biggest conceptual release of his career so far and gives Tape B the opportunity to return to the style of music that first inspired him to become a producer.
More than a collection of singles, Ghosts In The Static is a love letter to the sounds and culture that shaped Tape B. The album draws heavily from the nostalgia of classic dubstep while filtering those influences through his modern production style, creating a project that feels connected to the past without simply trying to recreate it.
The album explores the relationship between the music that inspired an entire generation and the sounds driving electronic music forward today. Drawing from the cinematic atmosphere, heavy low-end, and emotional depth associated with the early UKF era of dubstep, Tape B brings old-school and new-school influences together throughout the project. The result is designed to feel familiar to longtime bass music fans while introducing younger listeners to the sounds that helped shape the genre.
Ghosts In The Static opens with “Signature Sound,” a collaboration with legendary Atlanta producer Zaytoven. Known for his influential work with Gucci Mane and collaborations with Future, Migos, Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, and countless others, Zaytoven brings a strong connection to the hip-hop production world that has long influenced Tape B.
That collaboration helps establish the direction of the album, which combines Tape B’s signature low-end production with melodic songwriting and nostalgic textures that have become central to his sound. Across the project, he continues developing the identity of his artist project while connecting the different eras and influences that have shaped his musical perspective.
At its core, Ghosts In The Static is intended to function as a complete listening experience rather than a collection of individual tracks. The album takes listeners through the sounds that influenced Tape B, reinterpreting them through everything he has developed as a producer and artist.
That approach also reflects the path that brought Tape B to this point. Born in Istanbul before moving to Florida at three years old, Berk discovered music production while attending the University of Central Florida. After secretly using leftover scholarship money to purchase his first production equipment, he spent years developing his sound before a pivotal experience at Lost Lands in 2019 convinced him to pursue music as a career.
When the pandemic eliminated a post-college job opportunity in 2020, Berk committed fully to Tape B.
Since then, he has built a passionate bass music community through original releases, sonic storytelling, creative experimentation, and a distinctive ability to connect different generations of listeners. His music has consistently found a balance between old-school influences and contemporary bass production, allowing longtime fans to reconnect with familiar sounds while giving younger audiences an entry point into the music that inspired him.
That momentum has translated into a rapidly expanding live career. Tape B has sold out headline performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The Salt Shed, Shrine Expo Hall, Echostage, The Armory, and more, while selling more than 120,000 headline tickets throughout 2025. His collaborations have also included hip-hop legends Zaytoven and Juicy J, along with support from major electronic acts including GRiZ, Zeds Dead, Subtronics, Of The Trees, and Ganja White Night.
The debut album arrives during one of Tape B’s biggest years yet. That momentum includes the launch of the Summer Program Tour alongside Levity, one of the first bass-focused amphitheater tours in North America, as well as the continued growth of his live presence.
His rise has also followed an unconventional path. Rather than building his audience primarily through a traditional DSP-first model, Tape B developed much of his early community through SoundCloud, using the platform as a place for music discovery and direct connection with listeners. Original releases, unofficial tracks, IDs, mixtapes, and fan-shared live moments helped turn online discovery into a rapidly growing live community.

That community-first approach has become an important part of the Tape B story. Along the way, Berk has helped influence a new generation of bass artists while contributing to the growth of internet-first artist development, producer tags, fan-driven music discovery, and live experiences built around community as much as performance.
Now, Ghosts In The Static brings those ideas together in the form of Tape B’s first full-length album. Rooted in the music that first made him want to become an artist but shaped by everything he has learned since, the project looks backward and forward at the same time.
Rather than chasing trends or short-form virality, Ghosts In The Static places its focus on artistic identity, community, and the idea that a complete body of work can still have an impact. For Tape B, the album is the next step in a journey that has always connected nostalgia with innovation—and another opportunity to bring generations of bass music fans together through the sounds that started it all.
