Independent electronic artist REYUS has released his ambitious debut album, I’m Listening, a 20-track project that moves freely between electronic, house, garage, techno, pop, and rock.
Rather than settling into a single sound, I’m Listening reflects the wide range of music that has influenced REYUS throughout his life. The album moves between high-energy club records and more introspective moments, exploring themes of internal thought, anxiety, relationships, and human connection.
The project also features collaborations with close friends and artists from REYUS’ creative circle, adding different perspectives to an album that intentionally shifts in sound and mood from track to track. Recorded across Hackney, London, Dorking, and Ibiza, the album brings together the places and experiences that have shaped his creative development.
Influences from Four Tet, Jamie xx, Bicep, and Fred again.. can be felt across the project, while REYUS maintains his own eclectic approach to production.
“This album represents the kind of artist I wanted to be when I was a kid, not tied down to one genre or subgenre. I listen to a huge range of music and what I want to create changes all the time, so this album represents that. There are tracks for dancing, tracks for listening and different moods throughout. I hope people appreciate the range of creativity and, most importantly, enjoy the music,” REYUS explains.
That genre-fluid approach has already become an important part of REYUS’ identity. His music has been championed by artists including Tiësto, Four Tet, Gorgon City, Jamie xx, Bicep, Vintage Culture, Diplo, Solomun, Mau P, and CamelPhat. Before its release, I’m Listening was previewed at Tomorrowland Rooftop Terrace in Ibiza, The Egg, and E1, where it received feedback and support from across the electronic music community.
REYUS has also built his profile through his own events and live performances. His 2025 REYUS & Friends headline events took him across the UK and Ibiza, with performances at E1, Studio 338, Ministry of Sound, Café Mambo, 528 Ibiza, and B Club Kensington. He has also shared lineups with artists including Maceo Plex, Groove Armada, Adriatique, Confidence Man, Basement Jaxx, and Sparrow & Barbossa.
Based in Dorking, south of London, REYUS began writing music at just 10 years old, inspired by the late Tim Bergling. By 16, he had performed his first club show, beginning a journey that would eventually see him spend nine years developing his sound across the underground under multiple aliases.
That experience ultimately led REYUS to launch his own label and company, allowing him to release music independently while maintaining ownership of his work and control over his creative direction. That independence remains central to his approach, giving him the freedom to move between genres and ideas without being restricted by a predefined sound.
With I’m Listening, REYUS turns that creative freedom into his most ambitious statement yet. Across 20 tracks, the album brings together the sounds, places, relationships, and experiences that have shaped his journey while making it clear that REYUS intends to keep listening—and keep evolving.
