Martin Garrix is entering a new chapter of his career with MARTY, his long-awaited debut pop album, set for release on March 5, 2027, via STMPD Records and Darkroom Records. More than a decade in the making, the 14-track project blends pop and electronic music while bringing Garrix’s own vocals and personal storytelling to the forefront. The album will feature collaborations with U2, Ed Sheeran, Madonna, Aitana, and additional artists to be announced, with U2 frontman Bono also contributing as a co-writer.

Garrix revealed the album during an exclusive Spotify pop-up show that kicked off Amsterdam Dance Event. The event gave some of his top listeners an early taste of several unreleased tracks, offering a preview of a project that explores a more vulnerable side of one of electronic music’s most recognizable artists.

At its core, MARTY reflects on Garrix’s evolution from a young producer making music in his bedroom to a global star navigating the pressures of fame and life in the spotlight. The album examines who he was, who he is today, and the person he hopes to become, pairing introspective songwriting with the uplifting production that has defined much of his career.

The title carries a personal connection to his earliest days in music. Before becoming known worldwide as Martin Garrix, he performed under the name DJ Marty, accompanied by the slogan “Party with DJ Marty.” Revisiting that original alias brings the album full circle, connecting the artist he has become with the young music fan whose ambitions started it all.

The album’s narrative begins with ‘Catharina,’ named after Garrix’s mother, who first nurtured his love of music and encouraged him to learn instruments. From there, MARTY unfolds as a journey through different stages of life, tracing his childhood and upbringing, his rise as a DJ, and ultimately his thoughts on the afterlife. Intentional transitions and key changes connect the tracks, creating a continuous listening experience rather than a collection of unrelated singles.

The project also arrives as Garrix marks his 30th year, giving him an opportunity to reflect on how far he has come while looking ahead to what comes next. One of its central themes is “eternal love,” exploring the idea that the love people share and the energy they put into the world can endure beyond their lifetimes.

“Even though I’ve been doing this for most of my life, I still feel like I’m just at the beginning. That’s really what this album is about – growth, moving through different chapters of life, and understanding that the love we give and the energy we put out into the world don’t just disappear when we’re gone. I want to take people with me on that journey and let them experience all those different stages of growth alongside me,” Garrix said.

Developing MARTY was a lengthy process that involved narrowing more than 400 songs down to 14. The result is his most personal body of work to date, shaped by years of collaborations and creative relationships built around the world. While Garrix has long written songs on guitar and recorded demo vocals for other artists, this album places him in the spotlight as a vocalist in his own right.

A key influence throughout the process was Bono, who encouraged Garrix to find his voice and helped him work through vocal techniques while pushing him toward more vulnerable performances. That mentorship helped shape the album’s direction, allowing Garrix to move beyond his familiar role behind the decks and share more of himself directly through the music.

The announcement follows a busy period for Garrix, who recently completed the first leg of his Martin Garrix Americas Tour before heading overseas for a major European festival run. His schedule included headline performances at Tomorrowland and Creamfields, alongside his celebrated residency at Ushuaïa Ibiza.

The tour resumed with two sold-out nights at Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, where Garrix premiered a new collaboration with Spanish singer Aitana. The debut highlights his continued interest in connecting with audiences across different regions and working with artists whose musical backgrounds bring new perspectives to his sound. Upcoming tour stops include Costa Rica, Colombia, and Peru, among other destinations.

Beyond the tour, Garrix has also been announced as a headliner for Ultra Music Festival 2027 in Miami, extending his global momentum into the coming year.

With MARTY, Martin Garrix is stepping into a more personal role as a songwriter and vocalist while maintaining the expansive production that has made him a leading figure in electronic music. The album brings together more than a decade of creative development, international collaborations, and reflections on growing up, love, and the passage of time. For an artist who has spent much of his career making music for audiences around the world, MARTY offers a chance to tell his own story in a new way.
