Dutch DJ and producer Joey Daniel makes his long-awaited debut on Cécille Records with the Need I Say More EP, arriving November 6. The three-track release follows weeks of club support from established names including Marco Carola, Nic Fanciulli, and Nick Curly, bringing together Joey Daniel’s signature groove-driven sound with the label’s unmistakable club identity.

For Joey Daniel, the release represents a meaningful milestone more than a decade in the making. Having followed Cécille Records since its early days, he has watched the label’s evolution while maintaining a longstanding connection with its team. The label shares that enthusiasm, describing Joey as an artist and person they have wanted to welcome into the Cécille family for years.

The Need I Say More EP emerged through an extended creative process, with both sides working closely together to refine the music and ensure it reflected their shared vision. The result is a collection of three club-focused tracks built around pure groove and dancefloor functionality. Rather than chasing trends, the release connects Joey Daniel’s established musical identity with the sound and philosophy that have defined Cécille Records.

Speaking about the release, Joey Daniel reflected on his longstanding relationship with the label and the personal history behind the collaboration:

“I’ve been following Cécille since day one, and the label has always been a big inspiration for me, both in the music I play and the music I make. I’ve known Nick Curly for many years. I used to book him for my own events back in the day, and years later, when my international career took off, we started touring together, playing b2b sets and becoming good friends along the way. So there’s a lot of history there. I’ve always wanted to release on Cécille with the right music. An EP that truly represents who I am as Joey Daniel, while connecting naturally with the sound and identity of Cécille. That’s always been my vision.

“Working with the Cécille team has been an amazing journey. They welcomed me with open arms from the start, and we’ve shared the same ambition to make this release something special. The tracks came together naturally, without chasing a particular sound or trend. For me, this EP is exactly where my sound and Cécille meet. I couldn’t think of a better way to make my debut on the label.”

With more than two decades in electronic music, Joey Daniel has established himself through a consistent, groove-first approach rooted in Rotterdam’s underground scene. Early in his career, he held residencies and programmed some of the city’s biggest clubs before launching his own night, 300mph. The event brought international and national artists to Rotterdam each month, helping shape the city’s evolving club culture.

His own all-night-long performances at 300mph, during which he played from beginning to end, became a defining part of his identity as a DJ. That dedication to extended sets and deep musical storytelling would later carry into his international career.

Following a series of performances in Ibiza, Joey Daniel was invited to play an afterparty and delivered a set lasting nearly twelve hours, with members of Music On in attendance. The experience led to his Music On debut in 2015, followed by a place on the brand’s roster and a full-season residency in 2016.

That same year, he closed the main stage at Sunwaves Festival before performing a live set for Boiler Room at Watergate in Berlin.

His relationship with Music On continues, while his international schedule has expanded across some of electronic music’s most respected clubs and festivals. His appearances include Music On, Paradise, Solid Grooves, Sonus Festival, Awakenings, Creamfields, Parklife, The Warehouse Project, Hï, Ushuaïa, and UNVRS Ibiza.

In the studio, Joey Daniel maintains the same philosophy that drives his performances: groove-led, understated, and built to last beyond the moment. His discography includes releases on Cuttin’ Headz, Moodchild, Boogeyman, Moon Harbour, Knee Deep In Sound, and Get Physical, alongside music released through his own SiO Records imprint.

For Cécille Records, the Need I Say More EP marks the arrival of an artist whose connection to the label stretches back to its beginnings. For Joey Daniel, it is the culmination of a longstanding ambition and a collaboration grounded in mutual respect, shared musical values, and a commitment to the dancefloor.
