The Birthdayy Boys Bring the Partyy to NCMF! | #MCM

by The Freaks - Staff

There are a lot of factors that play into deciding what festivals you chose to attend but personal preference is one of the biggest. Who do you want to see? What do you wanna hear? What is going to make this one, above all, worth it? North Coast Music Festival in Chicago is coming up this Labor Day weekend and its lineup holds the one answer to all these questions: Birthdayy Partyy.

Giving a fresh take on the Bass House genre, Birthdayy Partyy brings together heavy, satisfying drops with infectious House beats. If Dubstep, Trap, and House music had a love child (I don’t even know how that would work but indulge me for a moment), it would be Birthdayy Partyy’s music; the best of all those genres all in one. A two for one special this Man Crush Monday, the Birthdayy boys, fraternal twin brothers Bryan and Jon, rose to popularity quickly last year from their remixing of nostalgic songs we all know and love and giving them a juicy EDM twist. Remember “London Bridge” by Fergie? “Hollaback Girl” by Gwen Stefani? “Misery Business” by Paramore? Birthdayy Partyy turned them all into Bass House bangers. Sounds cool, right? You should hear their originals.

Unwrapped” was their first song released in 2018 and was the start of the many original tunes. It starts with a nasty Trap-like buildup with Rico Acts superb rap vocals on top and reliefs with a Bass House drop you wouldn’t expect. This song has an even heavier big brother when the duo remastered it and gave us “Unwrapped VIP” on its one-year anniversary. Fast forward to this past week, their newest track “Pajama Time” released with a funky Bass House bounce that will undoubtedly be a crowd-pleaser for their upcoming live shows.

It’s damn near impossible to choose favorites when you have as many incredible tunes like these guys, but I’d say the most noteworthy track on Birthdayy Partyy’s repertoire would be “Day Drink” ft. Rage God. What does that say about me? I’d rather not dive that deep into myself but a word of caution for you with this song: It gets stuck in your head REAL quick! One listen and you’ll be singing it all day. That being said I’ve linked it HERE for your listening pleasure. You can hate me for it later.

Amongst some of the massive artists on the North Coast lineup like Jauz, Tchami, and i_o, make some room in your schedule for Birthdayy Partyy at the Hangar stage on Saturday. Unless you don’t want to have a good time and dance with all the cool kids then maybe not. Or still, come and be miserable while enjoying the quality tunes! Birthdayy Partyy sets come complete with some of the best crowd vibes I’ve ever had the pleasure of being in and come Hell or high water, I will be at that set. If you’re even considering catching this weeks #MCM at North Coast, I suggest picking up your tickets HERE sooner rather than later! The Partyy starts promptly at 4:30 pm!
