Swedish pop artist Benjamin Ingrosso is entering a new chapter with his upcoming fourth studio album, baby don’t say that, I’m sensitive, arriving March 19, 2027, via EMI Nordic. Alongside the announcement, Ingrosso has unveiled four new tracks, bringing the total number of songs released from the project to six following September’s double single, “funny feeling” and “waste my time.”
The new material signals a shift in sound and perspective for the Swedish singer-songwriter, moving away from the theatrical influences of his previous album toward ’80s new wave, alternative pop, and indie-inspired production. With a more prominent band-driven approach and an emphasis on groove, the upcoming record offers a closer look at Ingrosso’s evolving musical identity and the personal experiences shaping his songwriting.
His previous album, Pink Velvet Theatre, drew inspiration from artists including Bee Gees, Queen, and Elton John, alongside the larger-than-life spectacle of big-screen musicals. For baby don’t say that, I’m sensitive, Ingrosso takes a different creative direction, embracing sounds that draw from the alternative pop and indie landscape of the turn of the millennium. The four newly released tracks build on that approach, expanding the album’s musical range while keeping the focus on rhythm, melody, and emotional storytelling.
The project also brings together an experienced production and recording team. Production comes from Jonathan Rado, whose credits include Miley Cyrus, The Killers, and Father John Misty, alongside Kane Ritchotte, known for his work with sombr, Phoebe Bridgers, and Role Model. The album also features bassist Pino Palladino, whose credits include Elton John, John Mayer, and The Who, and keyboardist Greg Phillinganes, who has worked with Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and Aretha Franklin.
Lyrically, Ingrosso turns inward, exploring relationship struggles, insecurity, and the contradictions between how people present themselves and how they feel beneath the surface. One of the new tracks, “mommy’s boy,” approaches those themes with self-deprecating humor, examining the gap between outward confidence and a deeper need for acceptance.
“‘mommy’s boy’ is a kind of confession, where I poke fun at a self-image that doesn’t match reality,” Ingrosso explains. “It’s about someone who comes across as confident and perhaps a little vain, but deep down struggles with low self-esteem and just wants to be chosen and feel validated.”
The other new songs explore different stages of emotional uncertainty. “nice to meet ya” captures the complicated feeling of beginning to move on from someone while still resisting the idea of letting them go. “deep diver” takes the concept of diving beneath the surface literally, while “cliché” considers whether a relationship might have ended differently if someone had made another choice.
Together with September’s “funny feeling” and “waste my time,” the four new tracks introduce the first six songs from the 13-track album. The full track listing has also been revealed, giving fans a broader look at the project ahead of its spring 2027 release.
Although Ingrosso grew up surrounded by public attention, he has increasingly focused on establishing his own identity through music. He comes from one of Sweden’s best-known entertainment families, with singer and actress Pernilla Wahlgren as his mother, media personality Bianca Ingrosso as his sister, and Sebastian Ingrosso of Swedish House Mafia as his cousin. While much of the family’s life has been documented on the reality series Wahlgrens värld, Benjamin has largely stepped away from the show in recent years to pursue his own creative direction.
That independence is reflected in the forthcoming album, which uses personal songwriting to explore the person behind the public image. Rather than relying solely on polished pop spectacle, Ingrosso is leaning into vulnerability, self-reflection, and the messy realities of relationships.
The new album announcement arrives as Ingrosso prepares to launch his What Happens Next? Tour on October 23 with a sold-out opening show in Karlstad, Sweden. The tour will travel through Sweden, Finland, and Norway, concluding with two performances at Avicii Arena in Stockholm on November 13 and 14.
With baby don’t say that, I’m sensitive scheduled for March 19, 2027, Ingrosso is setting the stage for a new era built around a more personal perspective and an expanded musical palette. The six released tracks offer an early glimpse of that direction, balancing nostalgic influences with modern pop production and candid reflections on love, insecurity, and the difficulty of understanding ourselves.
