After another landmark edition in Miami, Ultra Music Festival is looking back on its 2026 experience with SYNCHRONICITY, a cinematic new aftermovie that puts the people behind the festival at the center of the story.
The official film arrives ahead of Ultra Music Festival 2027, which returns to Bayfront Park from March 26–28, 2027, giving fans a chance to relive the biggest moments from this year’s sold-out 26th edition.
Held from March 27–29, 2026, Ultra Music Festival 2026 delivered another weekend packed with defining moments from across the electronic music world. Among the highlights were Skrillex making a surprise appearance during BZRP’s headlining set, the landmark Swedish House Mafia takeover of the Main Stage, which transformed the festival into a “festival within a festival” and featured a rare back-to-back performance from Eric Prydz, and John Summit bringing out Feid during his Main Stage closing set.
But while those moments naturally dominate the highlight reels, SYNCHRONICITY takes a different approach.
Created by aftermovie specialists Final Kid Films, the film explores the human experience of Ultra through five chapters built around a progression of emotions: Anticipation, Connection, Release, Surrender and Unity. Beginning with an emotional prologue, the film moves from intimate portraits and personal testimonials to the overwhelming collective energy of tens of thousands of festivalgoers experiencing the same moment together.
That human element is central to the concept. Rather than simply documenting the stages and performances, SYNCHRONICITY focuses on the emotional connections created within the festival environment, showing how individual experiences ultimately become part of something much larger.
The production itself mirrors that idea. For the first time in Ultra Music Festival aftermovie history, Final Kid Films founder Charly Friedrichs brought members of the wider Final Kid team into the directing process, with different filmmakers taking responsibility for individual chapters.
Friedrichs returns as the film’s Director, Creative Director and Main Editor, while the additional Co-Directors bring their own perspectives to the separate sections. The result is a film constructed around multiple creative voices coming together to form a single narrative.
Visually, SYNCHRONICITY combines the emotional storytelling of the attendees with the enormous scale of Ultra Music Festival itself. High-energy sequences capture the festival’s stages and superstar performances against a propulsive electronic soundtrack, creating a balance between the personal and spectacular sides of the Miami festival.
Among the artists featured in the film are John Summit, Martin Garrix, Alesso, Swedish House Mafia and Excision, alongside footage representing the more than 200 artists who performed across the 2026 edition.
Importantly, SYNCHRONICITY was created entirely from real cinematography, with no AI-generated imagery used in the film. Performance footage, music, lyrics, testimonials and candid moments are woven together to create a visual record that is rooted in the people who experienced Ultra firsthand.
The release of SYNCHRONICITY also marks the beginning of the road toward Ultra Music Festival 2027. The festival has already opened its waitlist for its 27th edition, which will once again take over Bayfront Park in downtown Miami from Friday, March 26 through Sunday, March 28, 2027.
For a festival known for its massive stages, headline sets and production spectacle, SYNCHRONICITY offers a reminder that the most lasting part of Ultra Music Festival isn’t necessarily what happens onstage. It is what happens when thousands of individual experiences collide — and, for a few days in Miami, become one.
