London-born and based artist Giora returns with their latest single “POWER CANDY,” released on April 17 via their own label Holypop. The track marks the third offering from their forthcoming EP FREEWAY, set to arrive on May 1, 2026, continuing to build momentum around one of the most distinctive voices in experimental pop.
A multi-disciplinary creative, Giora operates as a singer, songwriter, producer, performer, creative director, and sound artist, with a growing reputation across both the UK and European underground scenes. They have shared stages with artists including Isabella Lovestory, Varg, Babynymph, Elisabeth Elektra, Puce Mary, Kelora, and Felix Lee, while earning praise from publications such as NOTION, CLASH Magazine, and Wonderland Magazine.
Their live presence has extended across key cultural spaces, from CREEPY TEEPEE Festival to KWIA and Bike Jesus, while also cultivating a strong footprint across London venues such as Gossamer Fog, Spanners, Niche, Pocket Radio, The Divine, and The Glory. Beyond performance, Giora has also been commissioned to create sound installations exhibited at Rich Mix and Stanley Arts. Through Holypop and its namesake live series, they continue to spotlight emerging voices from the UK and European Queer Experimental scenes.
Growing up in North London, Giora began their musical journey with classical training in piano, voice, and theory before transitioning into songwriting and band performance during their teenage years. A formative period in New York saw them study orchestral composition at Juilliard, laying the groundwork for a self-taught evolution into electronic production. This path culminated in their 2023 debut album It’s So Quiet But I Hear You, a critically acclaimed release that established their avant-garde, emotionally driven sound.
Co-written by Giora and produced alongside Oliver Torr, “POWER CANDY” is further shaped by mastering from Zac Tiessen. The track dives into the complex push-and-pull of power dynamics, framed as a gothic love song that reveals a softer, more vulnerable dimension of their artistry. Sonically, it blends striking synth work, a breakbeat-driven chorus, and brooding guitar textures, all anchored by Giora’s distinctive vocal delivery.
“POWER CANDY is an experimental pop track about the seductive and addictive nature of power and the role of power games in human dynamics, creating a metaphor between candy and power, enjoying domination whilst simultaneously granting it,” Giora shares.
Having already been performed live in Berlin and Prague, the track signals another compelling step toward FREEWAY, positioning Giora at the forefront of a new wave of boundary-pushing pop—where vulnerability, experimentation, and identity converge into something entirely their own.
