Jeshi is giving fans another taste of his forthcoming mixtape Headrush with the release of its title track, a collaboration with rising Australian techno duo X CLUB. The track captures the rush of losing yourself in a nightclub, where bright lights, loud music, and the energy of the crowd can make everything outside the room disappear.
“headrush” is built around the feeling of those unforgettable nights when the music takes over. The collaboration with X CLUB. brings a techno edge to Jeshi’s sound, creating a track that reflects the connection between dance music and the nightlife spaces that helped shape his musical identity.
The song also arrives with a music video directed by Jeshi, marking the first time the artist has taken on the director role for one of his own releases. The video aims to capture the unpredictable energy and madness of a night out, with Jeshi and X CLUB. bringing their shared experience into the visual.
“Me and me brothers X CLUB. made this to capture some pure night out madness, then played it for the first time at this hen do we got booked for, annoyingly it didn’t go down too well.”
The release sets the stage for Headrush, which arrives on 23 October through Select Discs and Partisan Records. The mixtape serves as a love letter to nightlife and the clubs where Jeshi first discovered dance music, even before he was legally old enough to be inside them.
That relationship with club culture runs through the project, with Headrush bringing together several of Jeshi’s recent releases. The mixtape includes “champagne,” “at the wheel,” and the recently released “linea rossa,” featuring London-based experimental producer and multi-instrumentalist Cameo Blush.
The project also marks the latest chapter in a busy 18 months for Jeshi, who has continued expanding his creative world through collaborations with Celeste, Leon Vynehall, Vegyn, and Ross From Friends. More recently, he teamed up with Oscar Farrell on “Greyhound.”
With “headrush,” Jeshi brings the focus back to the dancefloor, setting the tone for a mixtape rooted in the freedom, chaos, and sense of escape that can come with a night spent surrounded by music. As Headrush approaches, the title track offers another glimpse into a project shaped by the nightlife culture that helped introduce Jeshi to dance music in the first place.
