EDC Las Vegas prides itself on blending together all genres of Electronic Dance Music but let’s be honest, Bass has taken over the U.S. scene like no other the last decade. There is no shortage of Dubstep acts on the EDC Las Vegas 2020 lineup, but we have highlighted a few of the rare, special sets you absolutely do not want to miss. You’ll be catching us on the rail for each.

12th Planet Throwback Set

The man behind 12^th Planet, John Dadzie, has been creating Dubstep since 2006. He was a pioneer in bringing EDM over to the United States and is recognized as the “U.S. Dubstep Godfather” by UK’s Mixmag. 12^th Planet knows the scene like the back of his hand, collaborating with other pioneers like Kill The Noise and Skrillex.

Having produced songs for over a decade, 12^th Planet has a discography a mile long. The bangers he created that got so many of us into the scene simply can’t fit into every set. It’s rare to get a 12^th Planet throwback set and is absolutely not one to be missed at EDC Las Vegas. What’s to be in the set is still up in the air, as 12^th Planet himself asked his fans what they wanted to hear most. In a Facebook post, he wrote “Should I do a few songs from each year starting in 2007 in chronological order? Or should I just focus on songs from 2010, the year of the last EDC in Los Angeles? Hmmm.” Honestly, we’re excited about whatever he throws in there.

Herobust b2b Spag Heddy

EDC Las Vegas will not be the first time Herobust and Spag Heddy have gotten on stage together. At Rampage 2019, the two joined forces with Dubloadz to throw an epic b3b that absolutely destroyed the crowd. In the set, Herobust and Spag Heddy both mixed in some of their most popular, hard-hitting tracks to make sure all their fans left satisfied.

Herobust has been on the scene since 2014 but was really noticed by the community with his “I’m Aloud” EP in 2016. The “Vertebreaker” EP released only one year later only further threw Herobust into the spotlight. Spag Heddy, hailing from the Netherlands, has been creating music since 2011. He drew inspiration from artists like Funtcase and Skrillex, but gained widespread acclaim for putting his own fresh take on Dubstep. Spag Heddy’s melodic basslines up against Herobust’s Trap beats will be a perfect blend of all things bass.

Excision Detox Set

Excision is another Dubstep legend every headbanger is coming to see, but if you haven’t experienced one of Excision’s detox sets you’re in for a treat. With Excision sets, you normally expect heavy hitters, high energy, and dirty, filthy bass. The detox set, though, is a way for Excision to “push creative boundaries with everything ranging from weird, experimental, heavy, vibey, and underground songs,” according to a previous Instagram post.

Excision first debuted his detox set at Lost Lands 2017 to nothing but praise from his loyal fans. It showed a new side of Excision we don’t normally get to see, having even thrown in the Monxx remix of “Sandstorm” by Darude. That set had a mix of Reggae, Hip-Hop, Melodic Bass, and throwbacks to Dubstep pioneers. After going hard on the rail for days at EDC Las Vegas, this set will be the perfect time to vibe out while still getting your Bass fix.

Marauda

Not sure who Marauda is? You might know him better by his formal alias, Mastadon, the Dubstep legend out of Sydney, Australia. Marauda has released music on some of the most well-known Bass record labels, such as Never Say Die Records, Disciple Records, and Bassrush Records. He even has his own label Malignant Music.

At only 19-years-old, Marauda has already carved a space for himself in the Dubstep landscape. He’s been called a Dubstep prodigy by several news outlets and started perfecting his sound at the young age of 13. In the last few years, Marauda has exploded on the scene and he’ll only continue to grow from here. Seeing Marauda in the United States is a rare event, so catch him at EDC Las Vegas before he blows up bigger than other artists on the list.

EDC Las Vegas is sold out, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the show. There are still safe ways to obtain tickets, so your headbanging heart can get its fill.
