Tunisian-born DJ and producer Cera Khin has released her latest project, Certified Vampire Slayer, a five-track EP arriving on Mutate Records. Described as her most ambitious project to date, the release explores different sides of her personality through a genre-blending approach to club music. Built around the idea of cutting out people and influences that drain personal energy, the EP brings together hard-hitting production, dark atmospheres, and playful vocal elements.

Cera Khin has developed a distinctive perspective on electronic music through experiences that extend beyond the DJ booth. Her background in psychology and marketing, involvement in mental health advocacy, and time spent immersed in nightlife scenes in Berlin and Barcelona have all helped shape her creative outlook. That combination of influences carries into her production, which moves between hard techno, schranz, acid, hard bounce, psytrance, and other electronic styles.

The title track, “Certified Vampire Slayer,” sets the tone with a hard bounce sound and a message about protecting personal energy from draining influences. Sleek spoken-word vocals sit above booming bass, sharp drums, and bursts of acid synths, creating an unapologetic club track built around the EP’s central concept.

“I Don’t Date Humans” takes a darker direction, pairing breathy vocals with heavy bass and shadowy synth work. The mood shifts again on “I Don’t Care.,” where hypnotic vocal repetitions grow increasingly intense through a steadily developing build before dropping into a bouncy techno groove. Its message is straightforward: outside opinions and negativity aren’t going to dictate her energy.

The remaining tracks continue to explore the project’s range. “Born to Grow” introduces softer male vocals with a UK garage influence before opening into shimmering synths and pounding bass. Closing track “Forever Young” begins with rapid-fire drums, bright repeating melodies, and deep low-end production. Its electronic vocals reflect on childhood beliefs in fairy tales and the darker realities that come with growing older. A dramatic build eventually gives way to an energetic drop driven by electric synths and relentless percussion.

Ahead of the full release, lead singles “I Don’t Date Humans” and “I Don’t Care.” received support from Lilly Palmer, Bassjackers, Tiësto, Tim Clark, and XABI Only, helping introduce listeners to the EP’s contrasting sounds and themes.

Beyond her production and touring career, Cera Khin continues to build spaces for her creative and community-focused work. She runs her own label, CK777 Recordings, hosts the CK Invites event series, and leads Technomentalhealth, a platform dedicated to mental health within techno culture. Her upcoming performances include Escape Psycho Circus, Unreal Germany, Duro Festival, fabric Madrid, Studio 60 Miami, Mia Mao Paris, KALT, and INFERNØ Halloween.

Speaking about the release, Cera Khin describes the five tracks as different expressions of her identity, connected by a shared creative direction:

“‘Certified Vampire Slayer’ is one of the biggest projects I’ve worked on so far in my career. The EP features five tracks that I’ve been working on for quite some time, each exploring a different side of my personality.

While every track has its own identity, with subtle differences in sound, mood and energy, they all connect and feel like they belong to the same world. Together, they reflect the different sides of who I am in the most honest way I can express them. I’m really excited to finally share the full project and let people into this world I’ve been building.”

With Certified Vampire Slayer, Cera Khin brings together a collection of tracks that reflect her varied musical influences and uncompromising approach to self-expression. Each song explores a different mood while contributing to a larger concept centered on personal boundaries, individuality, and protecting the energy that drives creative freedom.
