MUTATE Records is opening a new chapter with the launch of ‘EVOLUTION: Volume I,’ the first installment of its newly conceived compilation EP series. Built around artists and sounds pushing the next generation of rave culture forward, the project brings together MADGRRL, ANAVAX, Dea Magna, culineR, CLAWZ, and DR. GRECO for a release that moves through hard techno, industrial textures, hard dance, and underground-inspired club music.
Leading the compilation, MADGRRL and ANAVAX join forces on “IDGAF,” a hard techno collaboration that embraces the track’s title with an unapologetic attitude. Fast-paced kicks and striking synth accents provide the foundation, while vocal chops, hooks, and restrained vocal cuts add character without taking away from the track’s relentless momentum.
For MADGRRL, the collaboration captures the more chaotic side of the rave experience.
“IDGAF is definitely one of those tracks that brings out that chaotic side of you. It’s fun, it’s aggressive and it has that attitude where for a few minutes you can just forget about everything else and absolutely lose it on the dancefloor.” — MADGRRL
ANAVAX brings his own perspective from Australia’s hard dance scene. The Melbourne artist has developed a raw, industrial-driven techno sound while performing at events including Hypersonic Festival, Levels Melbourne, and Black Noir. His catalog includes releases alongside Lister, CRMN (UK), and Ramon, adding another connection between the emerging sounds of Australia and the broader international hard dance movement.
“This song is about going hard at the rave till sunrise, enjoying yourself and dancing freely because you ‘DGAF’ !!!!” — ANAVAX
The compilation then shifts into the futuristic territory of Dea Magna and culineR. Their energetic collaboration is built around punchy percussion and rapid-fire kicks, with a springy synth keeping the groove in motion before an aggressive offbeat bassline takes over. The result reflects Dea Magna’s interest in combining hypnotic grooves with the raw energy of contemporary hard dance.
A lifelong devotee of rave culture, the Los Angeles-based producer has released music through Fifth on Acid, Revealed Recordings, and Virgin Records. Her collaboration with T78, “Rave Nostalgia,” reached No. 2 on the Beatport Charts and appeared on Spotify’s New Music Friday Dance. She has also received support from Insomniac Radio and VCCO while performing at Wasteland 2026, EDC 2025, Exchange LA, and Mixmag LA.
For Dea Magna, the track imagines a future where technology and rave culture become increasingly intertwined.
“When we imagine the world 100 years from now, we picture a city moving at impossible speed, hyper-connected, chaotic, glowing with neon and alive all night. This track feels like stepping into that world at 4am: a rave of the future, somewhere between human and machine, darkness and euphoria.” — Dea Magna
CLAWZ takes the compilation into a heavier direction with “Gimme That Bassline,” bringing together the producer’s hard techno foundation with influences from acid, industrial, and hard dance. A heavy kick and aggressive bassline establish the track immediately, while metallic synth stabs and rapid changes keep the arrangement moving.
The Los Angeles artist has built momentum across the international rave circuit, touring through North America, Colombia, and Europe while appearing at EDC Las Vegas, Verknipit Festival, EDSea, Wasteland, Beyond Wonderland, and Escape Psycho Circus. Her productions have appeared on Group Chat, Audiorotica, Nacht Seiger, and SXTCY Records, with support from TRYM, Nico Moreno, and KARAH.
“I wanted ‘Gimme That Bassline’ to capture the fun side of hard techno. It’s one of those tracks that can completely change the energy in a room—the bassline hits, the vocal gets stuck in your head, and suddenly everyone is moving. I made it to feel playful, powerful and a little ridiculous in the best way. Sometimes you just want a track that makes you lose your mind and dance.” — CLAWZ
Closing out ‘EVOLUTION: Volume I,’ DR. GRECO introduces a different shade of energy with “SUNDRESS.” Blending techno and house, the track uses bouncy synths, catchy vocals, and a driving bassline to bring a warmer, more summery feeling to the compilation while retaining its dancefloor focus.
The producer has also established a strong industry presence through his label Rawsome Recordings, where his debut release “Be” received support from Calvin Harris, Patrick Topping, Mau P, TRYM, James Hype, Loco Dice, Patrick Mason, and Nora En Pure, among others. His festival history includes EDC Las Vegas, EDC Orlando, We Belong Here, and Elements Music Festival.
“SUNDRESS is the culmination of hard kicks, driving bass and a thirst for Summer. I am incredibly excited to finally unveil this record for the hard groovers out there.” — DR. GRECO
Beyond the music, the compilation reflects the movement MUTATE Records is attempting to build around its new series. MADGRRL has developed her own community through the MADWRRLD event series while collaborating with Gravedgr, LNY TNZ, Yellow Claw, and Krewella. Her MAD ALL NIGHT tour has also brought her open-to-close 360-degree sets to venues including Echoplex, Effex Night Club, Club EGO, The Rink Studios, Strand, and Maeve.
With upcoming appearances at Lights All Night, Teletech, and a MADWRRLD showcase in her hometown of Philadelphia, her continued activity mirrors the momentum surrounding the artists featured throughout ‘EVOLUTION: Volume I.’
Rather than presenting a single interpretation of hard dance, MUTATE Records uses the first volume of ‘EVOLUTION’ to showcase how broad the modern rave sound has become. From industrial techno and punishing basslines to futuristic grooves and unexpected flashes of summer energy, the compilation connects different corners of the scene while keeping the dancefloor at its center.
