Solardo are going back to where it all began.
The Manchester duo of Mark Richards and James Eliot return on September 4 with ‘Wake Me Up,’ the first single from their forthcoming EP Deeper Love, arriving this autumn via their own SOLA imprint. Built around the deep, stripped-back energy that helped establish the duo in the first place, the track reconnects Solardo with the sound of their early years while setting the tone for their next chapter.
‘Wake Me Up’ is rooted firmly in the deep tech house aesthetic that defined Solardo’s early rise. Piano house riffs provide the melodic hook, cutting through rolling hi-hats and cascading grooves as the production steadily builds its momentum. Rather than relying on oversized drops or unnecessary decoration, the track keeps things tight and functional, allowing its groove to do the heavy lifting.
The timing feels particularly fitting. The deep tech house sound that dominated underground club floors throughout the 2014–2016 era has been finding renewed momentum, with a new generation of producers and DJs revisiting the stripped-back, groove-first approach. Solardo, having helped shape that movement the first time around, are now returning to it with a decade of experience behind them.
‘Wake Me Up’ also represents a more hands-on chapter for Solardo, with Richards and Eliot taking full ownership of their music and returning to SOLA for their next EP. As the founders of the label, the release brings the duo back to the foundations of the project while giving them room to push its sound forward on their own terms.
Founded by Solardo, SOLA has grown into one of the most respected independent names in house music, becoming a platform for both established and emerging artists.
