After a summer spent moving between some of Europe’s biggest dancefloors, HAAi is turning her attention toward the next chapter of her evolving sound. The London-based, Australian-born producer, songwriter, and DJ has unveiled “I Wanna Feel Like Someone” featuring James Massiah, the latest preview of her forthcoming album DIGITiSE, arriving October 9 via Mute.
Built from years of experience behind the decks, DIGITiSE is shaping up as an album that understands the dancefloor from the inside out. Rather than making records simply intended to be played in clubs, HAAi created much of the album while performing marathon DJ sets, testing ideas in real time and allowing the energy of the room to influence their evolution.
That philosophy is particularly apparent on “I Wanna Feel Like Someone.” Driven by heavy low-end, textured production, and propulsive Motorik rhythms, the track reaches toward the peak-time intensity that has defined some of HAAi’s most memorable sets. At the same time, the contribution from James Massiah introduces a moment of space and vulnerability amid the track’s denser electronic framework.
“‘I Wanna Feel Like Someone’ is a track that is purely made from memories of my sets over the years. It’s a nod to so much of the music I play and have played, and was a really fun track to make for the dancefloor,” explains HAAi.
For Massiah, the collaboration continues a creative relationship that began with HAAi’s previous album, HUMANiSE. “Love working with HAAi, always grateful when an artist I respect finds a new way to present my voice,” he says.
HAAi describes his vocals as a crucial counterpoint to the production. “James Massiah’s vocals are an important anchor in the song and give it a moment to breathe in amongst the textural heaviness.”
The new single follows “Ignition” featuring Echonomist, another preview that revealed the deeper personal narrative running through DIGITiSE. That track explored HAAi’s coming-of-age as a queer person growing up in a small town and her eventual discovery of freedom, identity, and community through the dancefloor.
While HUMANiSE placed that vulnerability front and center, DIGITiSE takes those emotions somewhere more physical. Originally conceived as an extension of the 2025 album, the project eventually developed a character of its own, becoming what HAAi calls the record’s “bigger, ravey sibling.”
“DIGITiSE holds the hand of HUMANiSE and walks it to the club,” she explains.
The contrast between the two albums is intentional. HUMANiSE marked a significant shift for HAAi, bringing her own voice and songwriting further into focus and moving her beyond the traditional role of DJ and producer. DIGITiSE, meanwhile, reconnects those personal themes with the communal experience that originally shaped her career.
At its heart, the album is an exploration of human connection at a time when technology and artificial intelligence are increasingly reshaping how people interact. For HAAi, one of the most powerful responses to that digital acceleration remains remarkably simple: putting people in the same room and letting music bring them together.
That idea is reflected throughout the album’s collaborations. Echonomist, Skybreak, Cantoalegre, Pat Alvarez, ILA, James Massiah, and Kaiden Ford all contribute to a record that moves through different perspectives and corners of electronic music. Cantoalegre, a children’s choir from Medellín, Colombia, appears alongside Skybreak on “Talking Walls,” adding another human element to the album’s expansive sonic palette.
Visually, the project takes a similarly playful approach. Martin Falck, whose credits include work with Fever Ray, The Knife, and Icona Pop, leads the visual world surrounding DIGITiSE, providing a colorful and camp counterpoint to the darker technological themes explored on HUMANiSE.
The album’s connection to HUMANiSE is even woven directly into its sequencing. The previous record closes with the children’s choir, while DIGITiSE picks up that sound at its opening before steering listeners toward the dancefloor.
“DIGITiSE was created with intention: I wanted to make music I could play when I DJ. I wanted it to sonically spread across multiple lanes in the way I would play an all night long set,” says HAAi.
That philosophy will become especially tangible this October when HAAi brings the album to North America. Her run begins with iii Points Miami on October 17, followed by the festival’s official Satellite afterparty at The Ground at Club Space. The following day, she heads to Refuge in New York City for an ambitious 10-hour album celebration, performing continuously from 4 PM until 2 AM. A special San Francisco appearance is also set to be announced.
The marathon in New York is more than a conventional album launch. After performing an eight-hour set at Public Records, HAAi is adding another two hours to explore her collection in greater depth.
“I’m so excited to return to North America this October for a run of super fun dates. I’m preparing for my 10-hour set at Refuge in support of my new album DIGITiSE. Following my last NYC set at Public Records, which was eight hours, I decided to switch into another gear and give myself an extra two hours to really explore my collection. Playing long sets is how I came up as a DJ, so 10 hours really feels like my comfort zone. I can’t wait to get stuck in.”
The marathon format mirrors the way DIGITiSE itself was created: gradually, instinctively, and in direct conversation with the dancefloor. It gives HAAi the room to move between tempos and genres, build an atmosphere over several hours, and recreate the communal experience that sits at the center of the album.
Before heading stateside, HAAi spent the summer navigating a packed European schedule that included WorldPride Amsterdam, Sziget, and Maiden Voyage in London. She also made her first-ever 100% HAAi production set at Maiden Voyage, alongside Ibiza appearances and back-to-back performances with DJ Tennis, DJ Seinfeld, and Sally C.
With “I Wanna Feel Like Someone” adding another piece to the puzzle, DIGITiSE is increasingly taking shape as an album about the physical and emotional power of the dancefloor. Where HUMANiSE looked inward, HAAi is now taking those discoveries outward—into louder rooms, longer nights, and the shared experience of moving together.
