Multi-faceted DJ and producer Blanke returns with PART III – AWAKENING, the third installment in the EP series leading to his highly anticipated debut album, due later this year. As the overarching narrative reaches its emotional turning point, the two-track release shifts the story from devastation toward renewal, expanding the cinematic universe Blanke has meticulously crafted throughout 2026.
Following PART II – SKYFIRE, which explored destruction as a catalyst for transformation, AWAKENING embraces the hope that emerges in its aftermath. Through the EP’s two tracks, “Sunrise” featuring JEX and “Synchronise,” Blanke presents two contrasting interpretations of rebirth—one luminous and uplifting, the other darker and more introspective—while both remain grounded in themes of connection, resilience, and personal evolution.
“Sunrise” stands as one of Blanke’s most emotionally expressive productions to date, blending soaring melodies with the unmistakable vocal performance of JEX. The track highlights a more melodic direction, delivering an uplifting anthem filled with warmth and optimism. By contrast, “Synchronise” revisits the heavier midtempo sound that helped establish Blanke’s reputation, providing a powerful counterpart that reinforces the project’s recurring theme of duality.

“AWAKENING is the third instalment to my debut album’s EP cycle. The next chapter of the series encapsulates the idea of rebirth, regeneration, and hope in full swing. ‘Sunrise’ featuring JEX feels like a perfect placement for this message. Hopeful, triumphant and energetic. ‘Synchronise’ is the other side of the coin. A similar message disguised in a darker and heavier package. The need for connection is an important part of this phase’s story. Connection to each other and the Earth, amidst the continuing chaos. The EP displays a newer sound from me with ‘Sunrise,’ along with ‘Synchronise’ showing my midtempo roots. I’m incredibly happy to share these with you.”
The EP arrives during one of the most significant years of Blanke’s career. Alongside fellow producer Virtual Riot, he is currently embarking on the Far From Home co-headlining tour while continuing a busy festival schedule that includes Lost In Dreams following a recent mainstage performance at Beyond Wonderland at The Gorge.
At the same time, his drum & bass alias ÆON:MODE continues its meteoric rise, fueled by headline tours across Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and North America, as well as standout performances at major festivals including Coachella, Tomorrowland, Liquicity, and Let It Roll.
Rather than existing as separate artistic identities, Blanke and ÆON:MODE have evolved into complementary expressions of the same creative vision. Together, they allow the producer to move seamlessly between cinematic songwriting, melodic emotion, underground club energy, and high-intensity drum & bass, solidifying his reputation as one of electronic music’s most versatile and forward-thinking artists.
