Today, two of Canada’s and the world’s foremost dubstep/bass producers have collaborated to share a new song. “Magnets” is a collaboration between Zeds Dead and Snails. Featuring a powerful vocal performance from Akylla, Zeds Dead and Snails have forged their unique sound designs together to create a track that ebbs and flows from a triumphant vocal lead to an absolutely annihilating bass drop filled with charged up percussion.
Since it’s live debut live by Zeds Dead at their annual Dead Rocks event at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in July, “Magnets” has become a crowd favorite at Zeds Dead and Snails shows alike. Recently, at the Boca Raton stop on the Deadbeats Tour, Snails joined Zeds Dead during their set to drop the track and formally announce it’s impending release. And since then anticipation for the track’s release has hit a fever pitch with Snails bringing out Akylla to perform the track live at the Lost Lands festival.
Zeds Dead is one of the top EDM artists today. Their consistent stream of quality releases has won them the adoration of millions of fans and praise from the biggest names in music. Following the release of their long-awaited debut album in 2016, Zeds Dead have continued to surprise old fans and gain new ones with a series of collaborations with Illenium, Ganja White Night, Jauz, and 1000 Volts (Redman & Jayceeoh).

The new track comes right in the middle of Zeds Dead‘s 2nd Annual Deadbeats North American and European tour, which kicked off on June 9th in Salt Lake City and will consist of 19 shows across the continents before concluding in Seattle on November 30th. Shows across the tour are set to include Rusko, Borgore, GG Magree, 1788-L, G Jones, DNMO, Zeds Dead themselves, and many more. Like last year’s iteration, each tour date features a different lineup unique to each city with 5-7 different artists, in addition to interactive fan elements like the Deadbeats Arcade which features free old games, food trucks, graffiti installations, and merchandise pop-ups.
In today’s saturated EDM market, originality is hard to come by, but Montreal producer Snails has managed to rise above the pack with an unmistakable sound called “Vomitstep”. Determined to cement his stature as one of the leading figures in bass music, Snails worked tirelessly throughout 2017 on one of his biggest projects ever, his debut album and first full-production tour, both called “The Shell”. 2018 Saw the launch of his very own label Slugz Music and a full on remix album with The Shell Remixes featuring a star-studded cast of friends Kill the Noise, SVDDEN DEATH, Space Jesus, Funtcase and more. The artist has announced The Shell 2.0 his second and most ambitious stage that is being described as “A Holographic Bass Experience” which is being debuted at his Red Rocks festival Sluggtopia and then on the 52 date tour.
On a similar note, Snails is set to embark on the Shell 2.0 Tour this fall across North America. Featuring revamped production and stage designs from last years tour, the Shell 2.0 tour consists of over 50 shows starting October 5th at Red Rocks and wrapping up on December 15th in San Marcos, TX.
