Danish electronic trio WhoMadeWho return with “We Could Be Lost,” a new single released via Maison Arts that explores the tension between emotional disconnection and the freedom of embracing the unknown. Blending indie pop sensibilities with deep house rhythms, the track transforms melancholy into a dancefloor experience built around delicate melodies, warm production, and introspective songwriting.

“We Could Be Lost” moves between moments of weightlessness and steady rhythmic drive. Delicate synths drift above rolling house grooves, creating an atmospheric soundscape that feels both intimate and expansive. As the track unfolds, its reflective lyrics give way to a more euphoric energy, capturing the feeling of letting go and allowing uncertainty to take over.

For WhoMadeWho, the song explores the appeal of stepping away from a world where nearly everything can be instantly explained or mapped out. The trio also connects that broader idea to the personal experience of losing an emotional connection with someone close.

“‘We Could Be Lost’ is about the beauty of not knowing. We live in a world where everything can be mapped, searched and explained instantly, where there’s always an answer. Sometimes we want the opposite: to get lost on purpose and stay there for a while. On a more personal level, the song is also about losing your connection to someone you love,” the group explains.

That balance between emotional vulnerability and electronic movement has become a defining part of WhoMadeWho’s sound. Comprised of Tomas Høffding, Tomas Barfod, and Jeppe Kjellberg, the Danish trio have built an international following through their distinctive blend of rock, jazz, and electronic music. Across eight albums and a wide-ranging catalog of singles and remixes, they have released music through respected labels including Kompakt, Innervisions, Rose Avenue, and Life & Death.

Their music also translates into a live experience that moves beyond the traditional DJ set. The group’s immersive performances showcase their musicianship and songwriting, while their hybrid DJ sets bring that same creative approach into the club. Their renowned performance for Cercle offers another example of how the trio combine electronic production with an atmosphere rooted in emotion and live musical expression.

Beyond their recordings and performances, WhoMadeWho have continued to expand their creative reach through The Moment, their global festival and record label brand. This year, the series brought its programming to Brooklyn Storehouse for a New York City showcase and welcomed 20,000 attendees to its recent two-day edition in Lisbon, featuring two stages curated by the trio.

The next stops for The Moment include Amsterdam, where the series will host a showcase during Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), followed by two nights at KOKO in London. These events extend the group’s vision of bringing artists and audiences together through carefully curated electronic music experiences.

With “We Could Be Lost,” WhoMadeWho continue to explore the space where introspection meets movement. The single embraces uncertainty as both an emotional reality and an invitation to surrender to the moment, turning the desire to disconnect from the familiar into something listeners can experience together on the dancefloor.

“We Could Be Lost” is available now via Maison Arts on all major streaming platforms.
