A true legend in the Trance Genre, Giuseppe Ottaviani has been in the industry for over 20 years. He’s a master producer, DJ, and label owner who has worked with some of the biggest names in the game. Giuseppe has followed a path of evolution. First starting with his partnership with Andrea Ribeca to form NU NRG in the late nineties then having multiple hits solo and now his recent collaboration with Solarstone to form PureNRG. He continues to surprise his fans with innovation and exploration of sound.
Born and raised in Italy, Giuseppe has always been around music. He studied piano and classical music at an early age and discovered Electronic Dance Music when he was a teenager. He started DJing in clubs in the late nineties and soon linked up with Andrea Ribeca to form NU NRG. Giuseppe really found his groove while a part of NU NRG; it’s here where he really began to experiment with his producing skills. NU NRG was totally ground-breaking at the time. They even caught the ear of the Trance god himself, Paul van Dyk. In 2001, NU NRG was signed to van Dyk’s label Vandit and released huge hits such as; “Dreamland”, “Freefall”, and “Butterfly”. “Dreamland” is a masterpiece; it comes in with light and airy piano melodies, and explodes into hard, driven basslines.
After several years together as NU NRG, it was in 2005 that Giuseppe broke out on his own. Over the years, Giuseppe has established himself as a true force in Trance. His solo career is one to be admired. Not only has he produced some of the most spellbinding tracks, but he also developed a one of a kind live show. Giuseppe Ottaviani Live! was unveiled in 2006 which broke away from the typical turntable and mixer set up. This show was a live performance! After the success of the Giuseppe Ottaviani Live!, he turned it up a notch with Live 2.0! in 2016. The 2.0 experience brought the studio production to the stage in an even bigger way, and gave the fans an incredibly unique experience.
PureNRG brought Giuseppe back to his collaborating roots. He joined forces with another Trance heavyweight; Solarstone. This merging of musical talent once again brought the live performance to the stage. Using a custom designed tech set-up, these two innovators bring fans an extraordinary no-two-shows-are-alike performance. PureNRG is truly an act like no other!
Giuseppe has an outstanding career and is in no hurry to call it quits. He continues to tour all over the world and bring his live show to some of the biggest festivals and clubs. Coming up this year, you can catch him at Luminosity Beach Festival, Creamfields, Transmission and back sharing the stage with Paul van Dyk at SHINE Ibiza.
