Solarstone Celebrates the Next Chapter of Pure Trance With Landmark London Recording

When Solarstone first launched his Pure Trance mix compilation series, few could have predicted it would grow into one of the most enduring movements in modern trance. Yet by 2024, the series had reached its tenth volume, marking a major milestone for a project that has long stood as a counterpoint to fleeting trends and short-lived hype.

For Solarstone, that tenth edition represented more than just a number. It was a natural pause point, a moment to reflect on how far Pure Trance had come and where it could go next. Rather than reinventing the concept entirely, he looked back to the heart of what made the sound and the community around it so distinct. The answer, he realized, lay in the dancefloor itself — in the shared experience of long-form sets, patient storytelling, and the kind of atmosphere that can only be built over hours, not minutes.

That philosophy now shapes the next installment, Pure Trance XI, which will be recorded live in London on February 14. For the occasion, Solarstone reunites with Finnish DJ and producer Orkidea, his original co-mixer on the very first volume of the series. Their creative partnership has deepened over the years, grounded in a mutual appreciation for the craft of classic mix compilations and the artistry behind seamless, emotionally driven transitions.

Both artists draw inspiration from an era when compilations were more than playlists. Influences like Northern Exposure, Global Underground, and Renaissance loom large in their approach — journeys designed to feel immersive, tactile, and deeply human. It’s a style rooted in technical skill and instinct, where each blend carries intention and every progression feels earned.

That ethos will come to life at Fabric, one of London’s most storied club institutions, as part of Liberation’s 13th event at the venue. Across a five-and-a-half-hour daytime set, Solarstone and Orkidea will craft and record the next chapter of Pure Trance in real time, turning the dancefloor into both stage and studio. It’s a format that mirrors the spirit of the series itself: music shaped by the energy of the room, guided by experience rather than algorithms.

For fans of the movement, the event offers a rare chance to witness a piece of trance history in the making. More than just another club night, the recording of Pure Trance XI stands as a living bridge between the genre’s past and its future, anchored by two artists who have spent decades refining the art of the long-form journey.
