SLANDER and Dylan Matthew | Fourth Collaboration, “Love is Gone” Debuts with Stunning Music Video

by The Freaks - Staff

SLANDER creates another melodic Dubstep masterpiece featuring the soaring vocals of Dylan Matthew on their fourth collaboration, “Love is Gone“, on NGHTMRE & SLANDER’s label Gud Vibrations. SLANDER has long since mastered the balance between hard-hitting sounds and soft vibes, and “Love is Gone” is no exception. The track seamlessly blends delicate piano keys, swelling orchestral sounds, a fast buildup mid-way through and Trap inspired breakdown. All this sets the stage for Matthew’s powerful, raw vocals and creates a unique and unforgettably passionate song. The song showcases the duo’s ability to dive into slower, feely sounds that remind the listener of heartbreak and loss but manage to wrap it all in a sense of hope and catharsis. The new release follows SLANDER and Dylan Matthew‘s earlier collaborations – 2017’s “Without You” (released on Monstercat) and 2018’s “Hate Being Alone” and “First Time” with Seven Lions & Dabin (released on Ophelia). SLANDER and Matthew’s collaborations keep getting better and will surely produce more hits to come.

One might expect the accompanying music video to follow a breakup or feature lonely shots of a solitary person, but instead SLANDER once again pulls out all the stops with a beautifully animated CGI sci-fi journey. The stunning video follows the adventures of a spaceman lost and adrift in an overwhelming futuristic world. The video serves as a perfect visual for the emotions of the track, featuring derelict wreckage and long lost astronauts for its melancholy notes, as well as spectacular spaceships and colorful landscapes for its swelling and hopeful turns.

‘Love Is Gone’ is our biggest endeavor to date. The accompanying video has been in the works for the past 3 years and is comprised entirely of movie level CGI. Just the rendering process took over 3 months to complete. We are thrilled to finally give our fans a glimpse into this new universe we are creating for them, which comprises our new show visuals, this video, and a secret future project. We’ve been tight lipped about all of this until now and we are so happy to finally reveal some pieces to the story. This one has been a long time coming and we can’t wait to slowly reveal what’s next! Shout out to Roboto for absolutely crushing the video and showing us that there really is no limit on human creativity if enough time and effort is laid down. Also we would like to thank our long-time collaborator Dylan Matthew for once again delivering a stellar vocal performance. At this moment, we are the most proud we have ever been of a project, and we hope you guys enjoy the fruits of our labor.

It is great to see this finally coming out. I want to thank all the artists involved in this project because they are integral parts of it. Can’t wait to show you what else is in store! Also RIP to all the GPU’s that passed away in the making of this video.
