Orange County-based hard dance artist Shogun is making his Basscon Records debut with “BASSLINE GENERATOR,” a relentless hardcore cut that captures the intensity behind his rapid rise through the U.S. underground. Since emerging from California’s hard dance scene in 2023, Shogun has built a growing international following by bringing together gabber, hardcore, industrial, and hard techno into a sound designed for maximum impact.
“BASSLINE GENERATOR” wastes little time establishing that identity. Running at an unforgiving pace, the track layers heavily distorted kicks with rave-ready hoover stabs, ominous synth riffs, zaag switch-ups, and chopped vocal textures. The result is a high-voltage production aimed squarely at festival stages and packed club floors, with the kind of aggressive sound design that has become central to Shogun’s growing catalog.
That momentum has been building quickly. In 2025, Shogun broke through with “HARDCORE SOUND,” a chaotic, high-impact track that earned international attention after receiving heavy rotation from artists including Holy Priest, Nico Moreno, and Vieze Asbak. The record reached another level when Dimitri Vegas and Nico Moreno selected it as the closing track during their back-to-back set at Tomorrowland’s Library Stage.
The breakthrough was followed by “CAN YOU FEEL MY HEART,” which has accumulated more than 3 million combined streams across platforms since January. Shogun has also shown that his momentum extends beyond solo productions, teaming up with ANOLUXX for “GODSLAYER” while preparing new collaborations with Lil Texas and Dionysus.
His debut two-track EP, Angel of Death, marked another major step in that progression, introducing a darker and more expansive chapter in his growing catalog. The project also gave its name to the Angel of Death Phase III World Tour, which has taken Shogun through sold-out headline shows and international appearances.
The tour included a sold-out headline performance at 1720 LA, alongside stops at AMPED, The Midway, Domicile, Redline, 9PM, Royale, Academy, and Harbour Event Centre. The final leg also marked Shogun’s debut in Australia and New Zealand, with sold-out appearances in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Queenstown, and Auckland.
Those dates add to an increasingly global touring history that has included sold-out headline shows in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Denver, Houston, and Tampa, as well as performances across North America, Australia, New Zealand, Colombia, Europe, Japan, and the United Kingdom.
The international run comes to a close with a hometown headline appearance at The Circle OC on September 19, giving Shogun a chance to bring the current chapter back to where his story began.
For Shogun, landing on Basscon Records makes “BASSLINE GENERATOR” particularly meaningful. The track was created with the label and its audience in mind, and the reaction to its early teasers has only heightened the anticipation surrounding the official release.
