Legendary Japanese artist Shinichi Osawa is back with his latest single, ‘COPY ME’, a dynamic collaboration with female singer-songwriter Nao Kawamura and electronic artist/guitarist Anne Futagami, out now via Dirtybird Records. This electrifying release follows last year’s bold FCKNJP EP and offers an underground J-Pop sound fused with Dirtybird’s signature style.
‘COPY ME’ is a high-energy track brimming with big synths, deep vocal cuts, and thick basslines. Osawa’s production showcases his mastery of relentless rhythms and adventurous soundscapes, pushing boundaries and highlighting Dirtybird’s broad influence on global dance music over the past two decades.
Shinichi Osawa is known for his vast contributions to the music industry as a musician, composer, DJ, and producer. He is the creative force behind acclaimed projects like Mondo Grosso and Thousand Tears Orchestra, blending genres and experimenting with various sounds. Throughout his career, Osawa has worked with a stellar roster of artists, including Boys Noize, Benny Benassi, Felix the Housecat, Digitalism, and Duck Sauce. His talents extend beyond production, with ventures into music for ads, soundtracks, anime, and spatial compositions.
In 2017, Osawa revived his Mondo Grosso project with the album Reborn Again and Always Starting New, marking his return after a 14-year hiatus. Last year, he made his Dirtybird debut with the FCKNJP EP, his first original work under his own name in nearly 15 years.
‘COPY ME’ will also be available as a special edition vinyl, featuring both tracks from FCKNJP and a VIP remix of the title track. Fans of Shinichi Osawa can stream ‘COPY ME’ now on all platforms.
