Paris-based DJ and producer Roodie steps into the spotlight with “W/U <333,” his first standalone single on DJ Tennis’ Life and Death label. Out now, the release marks the next stage in Roodie’s growing relationship with the label, following a series of appearances that have introduced his music to its wider community.
Roodie’s connection with Life and Death began gaining momentum earlier this year when his music appeared on DJ Tennis’ fabric presents mix. He later featured on the label’s Peak-Time Archives compilation alongside Jennifer Loveless and PAURRO. With “W/U <333,” the Paris-based producer moves beyond those initial appearances to deliver a standalone release of his own.
At its heart, “W/U <333” is a personal reflection on love, memory, and the moments that remain with us even when an opportunity for one final connection has passed. Roodie describes the emotional inspiration behind the track in his own words:
“W/U <333 is a love song about the things we wanted to hold onto, but never got to share one last dance with. It’s about love and memory.”
Founded by DJ Tennis, Life and Death has developed into a close-knit community connecting artists and collaborators across electronic music. Its extended circle includes Carlita, Demi Riquísimo, Luke Alessi, Cole Knight, and Red Axes, reflecting the label’s emphasis on creative relationships and shared musical perspectives.
Roodie’s progression through the label’s releases highlights that sense of connection. His appearance on a DJ mix led to a place on a compilation, followed by the opportunity to release a standalone single. Rather than arriving as an isolated introduction, “W/U <333” builds on an established relationship with the label and its surrounding community.
With the release now available, Roodie offers listeners a more direct introduction to his work through a track rooted in personal emotion and the lasting impact of shared moments. “W/U <333” marks a new chapter for the Paris-based producer as his relationship with Life and Death continues to develop.
