Legendary producer Radio Slave makes his first appearance on Dirtybird with two official remixes of Sacha Robotti and Blakkat’s “The Flood,” out now. The release reimagines a standout track from Sacha Robotti’s debut album, I, ROBOTTI, bringing one of underground dance music’s most respected figures into the Dirtybird catalog while continuing the album’s exploration of the artists and sounds that have shaped Sacha’s 20-year career.
Across two distinct interpretations, Radio Slave takes the original’s garage-inspired foundation into deeper, more hypnotic territory. The “Garten Dub” stretches across nine meditative minutes, pairing Blakkat’s soulful vocals with percussion-driven builds and delicate, flute-like melodies. Meanwhile, the “Remember Mix” moves into more experimental territory, layering chiming synths and ethereal sub-bass to create a mystical atmosphere.
Together, the remixes capture the genre-fluid approach behind I, ROBOTTI, a project that gives collaborators the freedom to reinterpret its music through their own creative perspectives.
Sacha Robotti shared his excitement about welcoming Radio Slave to the project:
“I’m incredibly excited to have Radio Slave remix ‘The Flood.’ Radio Slave is an artist whose work I’ve followed closely for the past two decades. He has always delivered pieces of music that touch me viscerally and somehow make time stand still. In this era, when fast fame and shortcuts to stardom have become the norm, Radio Slave represents a sound and an attitude that have stood the test of time. Honored and thrilled about this!”
