San Diego-based producer Player Dave has made his debut on HARD Recs with Paradise, a two-track EP that seamlessly blends immersive ambient textures with club-ready rhythms.
A classically trained multi-instrumentalist who spent his early years studying violin, cello, drums, and other instruments, Player Dave has spent the past decade developing a distinctive electronic sound rooted in emotion, experimentation, and dancefloor functionality. His latest release continues that evolution, pairing introspective sound design with UK garage-inspired grooves and forward-thinking production.
The EP’s title track, “Paradise,” showcases Player Dave’s ability to fuse UK Garage and IDM influences into an atmospheric club record. Built around shuffling percussion, the track layers granular pads, warm synthesizers, airy arpeggios, and textured vocal hooks that explore the feeling of a love so powerful it resembles paradise. The result is an emotive yet dancefloor-focused production that balances dreamy ambience with infectious movement.
The second offering, “s8cred,” expands on the project’s sonic palette by combining experimental electronica with more UK Garage influences. Anchored by crisp, shuffling drums and spacious synth work, the track delivers an energetic groove while maintaining the EP’s reflective, cinematic atmosphere, making it equally suited for intimate listening sessions and late-night club sets.
Beyond his solo productions, Player Dave is the founder of the rising record label and event series Daisy Chain, which has become a platform for his own music and collaborations with artists including Elohim, FLY, Next to Blue, Mirror Maze, and canary yellow. His diverse catalog also includes collaborations with bass music innovators such as sumthin sumthin, Of The Trees, Lab Group, and snuffy, highlighting his versatility across multiple electronic genres.
His momentum continues to build with upcoming headline performances at Club Vinyl, Smoke & Mirrors, and Nu Androids, alongside a scheduled appearance at Shambhala Music Festival. Those dates follow previous performances at major festivals including EDC Las Vegas, HARD Summer, iii Points, Lightning in a Bottle, and Hulaween.
