Chilled Classics is the follow-up to his two previous similar albums, Classic House and Ibiza Classics, where the second longest-serving Radio1 DJ and dance music pioneer paired up with the orchestra, conducted and arranged by Jules Buckley, to rework classic tunes like Eric Prydz’s ‘Pjanoo’, Robert Miles’ ‘Children, and the timelessstrings of life’, originally by Detroit Techno heavyweight, Derrick May.

The new release not only includes more amazing, classical revisions of timeless dance music tracks, Tong and Buckley introduce a number of brand new tracks that fit so seamlessly amongst their classic counterparts, but it will also make you wonder if you know those songs already.

We’re trying to make timeless music,” says Tong, “and we think these fit in.”

One of the original tracks, ‘Go Crazy’ features legendary New Jersey house and garage producer, Todd Edwards and is available for streaming now.

“Todd used to be signed to me back in the day at FFRR,” says Tong, “We always stayed in touch and he moved to LA and I kept bumping into him. I gave him all the references of what I was looking for, sent it over to him, and a month later he came back with this. He came up with the line ‘go crazy’, which was a no-brainer for us, for the show, for everything. I’m super-pleased to be reunited with him and really proud of it. It’s an amazingly powerful three minutes, with the Heritage Orchestra vocalists backing him up.”

In addition to the original songs on the album, there are new versions of trance anthem Greece 2000’, 2005 Anthem The Cure and The Cause’, and most unexpected of all, a GRIME rework of ‘Born Slippy’!!!

Do I have your attention now??!?!! This is one of those collaborations that is mindblowing to see live, and also, a GREAT way to introduce your family to the world of house and techno during the holiday season!
