NYC alt-rock artist Noshows returns today with his explosive new single ‘I Don’t Want It’, arriving alongside an ambitious music video that serves as both a visual statement and a tribute to the chaotic spirit of downtown New York City.
Filmed throughout the iconic Lower East Side, the video takes an unconventional documentary-style approach by featuring a diverse cast of real New Yorkers spanning different ages, personalities, and backgrounds. Each participant delivers lines from the song, transforming the visual into a living portrait of the city itself. The result feels spontaneous, intimate, unpredictable, and deeply tied to the restless energy that defines Noshows’ artistic identity.
For frontman Max Satow, New York became more than simply a backdrop for the project.
“New York has always felt like organized chaos to me,” Satow explains. “Everyone’s carrying something, everyone’s moving fast, everyone has a story. We wanted the video to feel like that — messy, alive, uncomfortable in places, but real.”
The release marks the latest preview from Noshows’ upcoming debut album, expected later this year. With more than 20 million streams and a rapidly growing fanbase, the project has steadily emerged as one of New York City’s most exciting young alternative acts, fueled by emotionally volatile songwriting, raw guitar-driven production, and an unmistakably downtown aesthetic.
Recent singles including ‘FOMO’, ‘Last Resort’, and ‘Fall Apart’ further expanded the band’s sonic identity, leaning into gritty 90s-inspired alt-rock influences while maintaining the emotionally charged atmosphere that has become central to the project.
The band has already earned support from publications including Atwood Magazine, Ones To Watch, and New York State Music, with Atwood Magazine describing Noshows as “seductive, anxious, and a little unhinged.”
Known for high-energy live performances, Noshows has continued building momentum through appearances at venues including Mercury Lounge, Bowery Electric, MilkBoy, Sofar Sounds, and performances at The Great Escape Festival, further solidifying the band’s reputation as a rising force deeply rooted in New York City’s downtown music culture.
