Max Styler continues to expand the sound of his Nu Moda imprint with Nexus 003, the latest installment in the label’s ongoing compilation series. Bringing together six exclusive tracks, the release explores the space between tech house, indie dance, and disco, highlighting a diverse group of producers shaping the label’s forward-thinking direction.

Featuring music from Broken Hill, Talón, ROWSEN, blaktone, Fur Coat, and Morab, and NO STATIC & Max Cardona, the compilation moves through a range of club-focused styles while maintaining a consistent emphasis on groove, atmosphere, and distinctive production.

Opening the collection is Broken Hill with “On Top,” a track that draws from indie dance and tech house. The Los Angeles producer’s background as a trained audio engineer and interest in analog equipment are reflected in its detailed arrangement. Shifting chords, sharp synths, warped vocals, subtle woodwind melodies, and lively bongos give the track plenty of movement. After spending six months testing and refining the production in his DJ sets, Broken Hill brings a polished club record to the compilation’s opening position.

Talón follows with “The King,” built around bright synths, a steady four-on-the-floor bassline, and crisp hi-hats beneath a male vocal. An acid-influenced breakdown adds another layer to the arrangement, giving the track a heavier turn. For Talón, however, the release carries a meaning beyond its dancefloor energy. He describes it as a reflection of a difficult period in his life, representing the process of reclaiming his identity and transforming adversity into strength.

Keeping the momentum moving, ROWSEN delivers “No Time For That,” a disco-influenced production that combines a female vocal with an atmospheric build and punchy synth breakdown. The track brings an old-school house sensibility into a modern club setting, with ROWSEN explaining that the production began with a cheeky bassline and groove before the vocal helped bring everything together.

The compilation then shifts into darker territory with “Cable Bugs” from blaktone. A crunchy bassline and rolling synths establish the track’s foundation before a spoken-word monologue takes over during the breakdown. A plucky melody then leads into the second drop, adding contrast to the heavier production. blaktone describes the track as an experiment and another journey for the project, reflecting the duo’s interest in creating new experiences through each release.

“Delano Nights” sees Fur Coat and Morab bring a lighter touch to the collection. A full bassline, feel-good melody, and atmospheric synths give the track an inviting energy. The collaboration also brings together two artists who have known each other for years. Fur Coat previously released music through Morab’s label during an earlier project, and although their paths continued to cross, it took time for the right collaboration to come together.

Closing out Nexus 003 is “Party Jumpin,” a collaboration between NO STATIC and vocalist Max Cardona. Confident, repeating vocals lead the track alongside a bouncy bassline and shimmering synths, while chopped vocal samples add extra movement ahead of the drop. NO STATIC describes the production as a reflection of the sound he has been developing over the past year, combining tech house and indie dance with a memorable vocal and catchy synth line.

The compilation also offers another opportunity to spotlight Broken Hill, whose profile has continued to grow across the indie dance and house scenes. His releases include music with BLOND, WELKER, Familiar Faces, and DvirNuns, alongside remixes for Kevin McKay and Phantoms. He also reached No. 1 on Beatport’s Indie Dance chart with “Goat.” His productions have received radio play from BBC Radio 1 and support from Four Tet, Solomun, Adam Ten, Enamour, Super Flu, Innellea, and Clüb De Combat.

His upcoming schedule includes appearances at Spectrum Center with John Summit, Fields of Funk, Soho House London, Q Nightclub, Club Vinyl, Reframe LA, 45 East, Terraza SEDE, and Tokyo Club.

With six exclusive productions spanning multiple corners of electronic dance music, Nexus 003 continues the direction of Max Styler’s Nu Moda imprint. Each contributor brings a different perspective to the collection, resulting in a compilation that moves comfortably between melodic, disco-inspired, and harder-edged club sounds.
