Croatian-born, Los Angeles-based producer Matroda returns with his latest release, HARD TO EXPLAIN, a new four-track EP out now via Insomniac Records. The project adds another chapter to the producer’s prolific catalog while showcasing his distinctive approach to modern house music, balancing club-ready grooves with melodic details and textured production.
Across HARD TO EXPLAIN, Matroda explores four original tracks that highlight the versatility behind his sound. The EP follows his recent single “I Need Your Lovin,” released earlier this month on Insomniac Records, and continues a productive run of releases that has helped establish Matroda as a recognizable force within contemporary house music.
One of the project’s standout moments comes with “Nights With You,” featuring understated artist SUDAKOV. The track leans into a deep, late-night house atmosphere, combining a cinematic ’80s influence with a raw modern club aesthetic. A hypnotic low-register vocal hook anchors the production as smoky verses move through shimmery after-hours synths, warm piano chords, and a prominent bassline that carries the track’s sultry groove.
The release builds on Matroda’s long-running relationship with Insomniac Records, where he has developed an extensive catalog spanning original singles, remixes, VIPs, and collaborative releases. His tracks “Forget It,” “Saturday Love,” and “Gimme Some Keys” have each surpassed 25 million streams on the label, underscoring the continued reach of his productions.
HARD TO EXPLAIN also arrives as Matroda wraps up the North American leg of his Summer Tour. The run has taken him to major festivals and clubs across the continent, including HARD Summer, Beyond Wonderland PNW, Sun Soaked, Shambhala, Das Energi, and Elements Festival.
His club schedule has included stops at Club Space, LIV Beach Club, Wall Street Plaza, FWD Nightclub, Concourse Project, Cabana, Malkin Bowl, and Harrah’s Pool, as well as his Matroda Day & Night NYC Marathon at The Ruins at Knockdown Center.
