El maestro of Techno Maceo Plex, is coming back to shake up the NYC and he’s bringing a dangerous crew with him. For New York, this is one of 2020’s most tremendous Techno line-ups yet. ANNA, Joey Beltram, and Avision will be alongside the master himself. Ellum is a record label that was created by Maceo back in 2011 and strictly focuses on the spooky, yet melodic sound that we all love from him. Originally created as a platform for his own music, Ellum gradually acquired artists with a similar sound over the years.
Avision is a rising star in the Techno community and a force to be reckoned with. Being an NYC native, he is no stranger to its club scene and knows what the people want to hear. He has been gaining recognition for himself by performing at both clubs and major festivals across the globe. Some of his recent appearances include Time Warp NYC, Pacha Barcelona, and Amsterdam Dance Event. Some of Avision’s productions have been released under the Ellum label as well.
Joey Beltram is no stranger to Techno, despite his name not being too familiar in the mainstream culture. Joey is without a doubt one of the most talented acts to emerge from the underground dance scene. He had a huge involvement in the growth of the underground scene in general. He has been mastering the art of DJing since the early ’80s and his live performances reflect that. Best known for his 1990 hit “Energy Flash”, he is an act every Techno fan should get to see at least once in their lifetime.
ANNA has been making quite the impression within the Techno scene in recent years and her name is only getting more familiar. After (literally) stumbling upon her set at Detroit’s Movement Festival, I was a fan almost instantly and felt it was one of the purest Techno sets I had heard in a while. She is currently one of Electronic Dance Music’s most sought after acts, based on her presence across an exorbitant amount of lineups locally and globally. Just make sure you’re well-rested for the energy she brings to the dance floor.
The FOMO seems to only be getting worse this year as far as dance music events go and this should be a top priority on any one’s list. Tickets are not guaranteed to stay at the current price or be available much longer for that matter. It is strongly suggested that you secure your ticket ASAP if even the slightest possibility of attending Ellum NYC is crossing your mind.
