Dirtybird mainstays Kevin Knapp and Audiojack reunite for their latest collaborative single, “Grab The Wall,” a playful and groove-heavy house cut that leans into the saucier side of their shared sound.
At the center of the track, Knapp’s soulful vocals provide a memorable hook, contrasting with Audiojack’s deep, rolling low-end. Throbbing basslines and crisp percussion give the production its physical edge, while a series of unexpected twists keep the arrangement moving without ever disrupting its natural groove.
The result is a record that feels equally playful and seductive, embracing the personality-driven approach that has long been central to Dirtybird. Rather than relying on straightforward club mechanics, “Grab The Wall” gives its characters plenty of room to shine, creating a dancefloor record with plenty of eccentricity baked into its DNA.
For Texas-born, Bay Area-developed producer, vocalist, and DJ Kevin Knapp, the collaboration marks another chapter in a long-running relationship with the Dirtybird family. His catalog with the label includes “Dummer Loco,” created with Mat.Joe and Maximono in 2020, “Dope Kid Central” in 2022, and “Funky Enough” with Andreas Henneberg in 2023.
Knapp also participated in Dirtybird’s inaugural Flight Week writing camp last year, contributing “Bell Ringer” to the Flock Tapes compilation. He subsequently joined the label for Dirtybird Campout x Northern Nights, further cementing his place within the wider Dirtybird community.
Meanwhile, UK duo Audiojack have become increasingly connected to the Dirtybird ecosystem while continuing to build a two-decade career of their own. Their distinctive blend of house, minimal, and garage has earned releases through influential labels including Defected, Toolroom, Crosstown Rebels, Nothing Else Matters, and Knee Deep In Sound.
The duo made their Dirtybird debut in 2022 with the Stay Strong EP before returning to the label last year with “Rumours.” In July, Audiojack once again joined the Dirtybird family at Dirtybird Campout x Northern Nights.
“Grab The Wall” brings the two acts together once again, combining Knapp’s expressive vocals with Audiojack’s instinct for deep grooves and left-field house production.
The result is exactly the kind of character-rich club record Dirtybird has built its reputation around: funky, unpredictable, physical, and impossible to stand still to.
“Grab The Wall” is out now and available on all major streaming platforms.
