Kaz James Keeps The Summer Moving With Dance Her Right

Australian-born DJ and producer Kaz James continues his summer run with his latest single, “Dance Her Right,” out now through his own KRUSHES imprint. Built as an anthemic club record with the dancefloor firmly in mind, the release follows a string of recent summer cuts from James, including “Footprints,” “Through Your Love,” “Twisted,” and “Sun Is Shining.”

Before its official release, “Dance Her Right” was already finding its way into the sets of some of house and techno’s most established selectors. Early support has come from Adriatique, Bob Moses, Nic Fanciulli, Joseph Capriati, Nicole Moudaber, Yotto, Agoria, Eelke Kleijn, Laolu, Steve Lawler, and The Magician, among others, giving the track an early presence across the global club scene.

The release also highlights the growing world behind KRUSHES, the label and creative platform James has built around the same instincts that have guided his career as a DJ. Rather than following a complicated formula, the imprint is centered on music that immediately connects.

“The label is all about putting out records from artists that just krush it,” says Kaz. “You hear it, and boom, you’ve got an instant krush on it. It’s just music that you can’t get over.”

That philosophy extends beyond releases, with KRUSHES also developing through parties and collaborations while keeping its focus on quality and music that leaves an impression.

Born in Melbourne and raised around disco, rare groove, and the foundations of house music, James began his career within Australia’s underground scene before establishing himself internationally. His patient, immersive approach behind the decks quickly earned recognition from influential figures including Pete Tong and Frankie Knuckles, with Knuckles eventually inviting James to open for him in Ibiza.

From there, James has built a career that stretches across millions of records sold, studio collaborations, film work, and performances in some of the world’s most prominent dance music destinations, including Ibiza, London, New York, and Mykonos.

Despite that international reach, his approach remains closely tied to traditional DJ culture. James first developed his reputation through marathon sets on Technics 1210s, learning to build a room through patience, instinct, and an understanding of how a dancefloor responds. Today, that same approach allows him to move comfortably between intimate underground spaces and some of the world’s biggest and most sought-after clubs and festivals.

Following a summer that has included appearances alongside Black Coffee, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Francis Mercier, and Major League DJz, James is carrying that momentum into the fall with upcoming dates across New York, Los Angeles, Ibiza, Mexico, and Las Vegas.

With “Dance Her Right,” James continues to build on a productive run of club-focused releases while expanding the creative world of KRUSHES. The result is another summer-ready record from an artist whose career has remained rooted in the simple connection between a DJ, a great record, and a dancefloor.
