After more than fifteen years exploring the emotional side of club music, Jacques Greene has released jg, an eleven-track album that puts the dancefloor at the center of his sound. Out now via LUCKYME®, the record brings his melodic sensibility into sharper focus through club-driven rhythms and collaborations with artists from his creative community.
Featuring DJ BORING, Ouri, Jonah Yano, SAM-E, SEES00000, CFCF, umru, crushed, and Sølv, jg brings together a network of collaborators who help shape the album’s distinct identity. The project marks a new chapter for Greene, following his previous albums Feel Infinite in 2017 and Dawn Chorus in 2019. Across his work, he has consistently explored the emotional possibilities of dance music, and this latest release channels that approach into a record designed unapologetically for the club.
The album’s final advance single, “Waiting,” featuring Sølv, offered one last preview of the project before its full release. Drawing on modern UK garage influences, the track pairs Sølv’s vocals with Greene’s polished club production, adding another dimension to the album’s sound.
“Waiting” followed a series of singles that introduced different sides of jg, including “Presence,” “Closer” featuring DJ BORING, “What You Say” featuring umru, and “Everyone” featuring SEES00000. Together, the releases built anticipation for an album that brings Greene’s melodic instincts and club-focused direction into a cohesive body of work.
The release also follows Greene’s recent work in film scoring. He collaborated with Nosaj Thing under their Verses GT project on The Color of the Sun (太陽ぬ色), written and directed by Xavier Tera. The film premiered at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, where it received the FIPRESCI International Critics Award.
With jg, Jacques Greene brings his long-running exploration of emotion through electronic music into a project firmly rooted in the dancefloor. The album combines his established melodic approach with club rhythms and contributions from a close-knit group of collaborators, opening a new chapter in his evolving body of work. jg is available now via LUCKYME®.
