On January 31th and February 1st Ilan Bluestone brought his newest concept Rewind to Brooklyn for two nights of fast pacing Tronce! Playing two back to back nights for two hours with no track repeats, Ilan strictly delivered a unique experience each night. Taking over the Lost Circuits portion of Avant Gardner, this event space is intimate with no LED screens. This venue puts the experience of music first and allows you to take it all in without being distracted by massive video walls. Ilan hit us with all the Anjunabeats classics in his music catalog and played our favorite Above and Beyond tunes as well!
Friday was filled with Ilan classics such as Spheres and We Are The Universe, playing a highly energetic set for a little over two hours to a packed Brooklyn crowd. It was clear that this Anjunafamily was ready for this takeover and feed off of Ilan energy, giving us everything in his bag of tricks. Bluestone was enjoying himself behind the decks, singing along to the tunes he was playing and making the fans clap along with him. After all the melodic tunes and heavy breaks, it was time to end this set and boy he gave us quite the ending! He dropped a tune I’ve been massively obsessed with since Bluestone debuted it at the end of his ABGT 350, his unreleased single Hypnotized with Emma Hewitt. This song reminds me of the style of Trance that I fell in love with the first time listening to that heavy 138 bpm with melodic breaks, beautiful vocals, and that sweet kick drum.
Overall this takeover gave us that Anjuna vibe the NYC trance family needed, giving us a much needed night out to hold us over until the Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep return to Brooklyn Mirage for the spring/summer season. Till then be on the lookout for Bluestone untitled album to be released in 2020 and on the lookout for special tour dates coming soon.
