Icarus has become one of the more promising acts that have cropped up in dance music in the past half-decade, releasing dozens of pristinely produced house tunes on vaunted labels like Anjunadeep among others. Having previously released the disco-tinged tune ‘Love Has Come Around’ back in February and ‘No Sleep’ in 2017, Icarus have today unveiled their new EP ‘In The Dark’ which also includes the catchy new single ‘Flowers’ (which was incidentally names as Annie Mac’s ‘Hottest Record’, their 5th consecutive). Check out ‘Flowers’ below:
‘In The Dark’ takes listeners on a journey of a relationship that starts smoothly, but eventually sours. Things come to a breaking point on ‘Flowers’, “sorry for the promises I broke” a melancholy lyric that fits nicely with the emotive production.

“The lyrics are more direct, but there are very dark overtones to the music,” says Icarus’ Ian Griffiths. “It’s talking about situations early in a relationship,” adds his brother Tom. “Maybe it’s not right, but you still want it to happen.”
The EP also includes ‘I Could Leave’, ‘No Sleep’ and a Soft-Focus Mix of ‘Flowers’ – concluding one of the more impressive EPs we’ve heard in some time. Icarus has a busy summer schedule with several UK shows lined up, so be sure to catch a set if you happen to be on that side of the Atlantic in the coming months:
