Following a strong return to form at the end of 2025, Andy Butler and his Hercules & Love Affair project continue their momentum with the announcement of Someone Else Is Calling Remixes, arriving May 1 via StrataSonic.
The remix collection reimagines the acclaimed Someone Else Is Calling EP with contributions from a carefully curated group of artists spanning house music’s roots and its modern underground. Leading the release is “Crossed Lines (Mr. Fingers Acid Mix),” out now, courtesy of deep house originator Mr. Fingers—the legendary alias of Larry Heard.
For Andy Butler, the collaboration carries personal and musical significance. Citing Larry Heard as a direct influence on the original EP, Butler described the remix as a full-circle moment—one that echoes a similar experience from earlier in his career, when house pioneer Frankie Knuckles reworked the project’s breakout 2008 single Blind.
Beyond Mr. Fingers, the remix package brings together a diverse lineup of underground voices, including Ciel, Luke Solomon, CPEN, and Mystery Affair, each offering their own interpretation of the EP’s emotive and club-focused foundation.
As the creative force behind Hercules & Love Affair, Andy Butler remains a defining figure in modern queer dance culture. Since the release of Blind—featuring ANOHNI—the project has consistently bridged underground house music with broader pop sensibilities, helping shape a more inclusive and expressive global club landscape.
With Someone Else Is Calling Remixes, Hercules & Love Affair not only revisit a recent chapter but deepen it—connecting past influences with present-day collaborators, and reinforcing a legacy rooted in emotion, community, and the enduring spirit of house music.
