This week’s #WCW features the perfect woman for the day. Taylor Chung, also known as her DJ name Wenzday, is originally from the Bay Area. At the age of 16, she moved to Los Angeles to continue the pursuit of her dream full time. She enrolled and graduated from Icon Collective in Burbank. Over time she has become one of the most sought after open-format female artists. She was even the youngest DJ to ever play at the famous Playboy Mansion. Chung’s family was very involved in music with her Dad throwing events and her brother getting in on the action. For those unaware, Tanner Chung who is known as Dack Janiels is Wenzday’s brother. The two are very close and are always supporting each other. Together with the help of their best friend Eric Hamato aka HAMI, the three created the company and label the 40oz Cult as well as, Anti-Riddim Club in 2015. The two currently tour all over with their 40oz Cult Takeovers.
Wenzday has been on a roll in 2019. Starting off with playing at the Queen’s Domain at Beyond Wonderland in March, to the Corona Electric Beach at EDC Las Vegas 2019 where she had the opportunity to share her new release, Heartbreak House. This little lady has even more to come! For those of you heading out to one of the most coveted events of the year, Burning Man, you will have three chances to catch her. For those who are skipping the dust like myself, you can join her alongside Malaa, Dr.Fresch, DJ Snake, and many more at Nocturnal Wonderland on Saturday at the Wolves Den. We will be saying goodbye to the Gelen Helen Amphitheater this year so it is sure to be a very special experience. Tickets are still available, and recently Insomniac released more camping passes! However, if you are unable to make it to the early September festival, plan accordingly and the trek to Ohio for Excision’s Lost Lands. Those are just three of the upcoming events she will be throwing down her amazing music at. Her talent is unreal and for that reason, she is our Woman Crush Wenzday.
