Label favorite EDDIE makes his return to HypnoVizion with a new single, “Step On It,” out now across all platforms. Known for his forward-thinking approach to bass-driven electronic music, the Australian-born, Los Angeles-based producer leans further into his darker, more industrial instincts on a track built for late-night, underground spaces.
With “Step On It,” EDDIE drops into a stark sonic environment shaped by abrasive textures, pounding low-end pressure, and a deliberately polarizing tonal palette. Distorted synth layers and slinking rhythmic movement sit beneath cybernetic vocal fragments and restrained build-ups, creating a tightly controlled tension that never fully resolves. The result is a gritty, high-impact cut that reflects the aesthetic DNA of HypnoVizion’s darker club identity.
“‘Step On It’ is a song I started while I was in Europe,” EDDIE explains. “I was just imagining this scene in my head the whole time—an underground rave under some abandoned brutalist-style bridge in Europe, everything in slow motion, everyone is dancing, not a phone in sight, and we all have this indescribable euphoric feeling. Flashing lights and the crowd just matching this vibe of high fashion meets brutalism… so yeah that’s what my brain was thinking when this song was conceived. I hope you also enjoy illegal or legal raves + watching fashion week to this song.”
The release continues EDDIE’s evolving run within the electronic underground, following early breakout moments on labels such as mau5trap, Monstercat, Deadbeats, and Gud Vibrations. His collaborative catalog includes work with REZZ, Zomboy, Black Tiger Sex Machine, and ATLiens, alongside a growing list of contributions to the HypnoVizion imprint.
Since making his debut on the label with Onzeker Kraft Vol. 1 in 2023, EDDIE has become a recurring presence within the HypnoVizion ecosystem, later returning with Onzeker Kraft Vol. 1.5 and collaborative releases including ‘Maleficent‘ and ‘ZONE‘ alongside label head REZZ. His continued output reflects a consistent alignment with the imprint’s emphasis on dark, contrast-heavy sound design and immersive club atmospheres.
With “Step On It,” EDDIE sharpens that identity further—delivering a record designed for subterranean spaces, where tension, distortion, and atmosphere converge into a single, controlled burst of energy.
