Someone needs to invent a cloning machine, STAT! The EDC Week 2019 lineup is so stacked, I would need at least three of me to cover each day’s desired shows. Especially since I love a pretty wide variety of artists and genres. If you have not done EDC Week, there are people who go to Vegas JUST for the week’s events and not the actual EDC Festival… THAT is how great the lineup is! However, with that being said, with so many of these artists also appearing at the festival, I’m focusing all my energies Friday, May 17th to Sunday, May 19th on EDC Las Vegas 2019.
It was a tough call, and my body will probably be pissed by the following Monday, but I’ll be doing two EDC Week shows on Thursday, May 16th. I’m flying in with barely enough time to catch some of my favorite boys, Above & Beyond, do their thing at KAOS‘ pool party. I have the immense fortune to call Senior KAOS Promoter Chad Chapman a friend and fellow Anjunafamily member, so I’ll be getting in on the guest list. He was kind enough to hook it up last year for A&B’s EDC Week pool party at Wet Republic and it was easily one of my favorite shows of 2018. Having grown up in Hawaii, few things are as phenomenal as dancing in a bikini under the sun with my feet in the water and some of my favorite Trance artists immersing me in all the feels. Not to mention, I’ll be joined by thousands of Anjunafam, many of whom I’ve had the opportunity to meet since ABGT250, and others I’ll be meeting for the first time.
My second Thursday show will be Factory 93 presents Adam Beyer x Cirez D at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center. There won’t be much downtime to change from sunny bikini to jet black Techno clothes, grab a bite and catch a ride over there, but who cares?!? There’s no way I’m missing these Kings of Darkness. I’m most looking forward to Cirez D’s particular brand of Techno. His lengthy, beautiful melodic builds make you believe the drop is right around the corner, but he’s tricky! He just adds in another element; another layer that leaves you tantalized until you hear it… yes… there it is… give it to me… I want it… I need it… yes… now… oh please… Yes. FUCK YES!!! And that’s where his magic lies. Don’t believe me? Join me as I drip sweat on the dancefloor with Adam Beyer x Cirez D, today’s wizards of Techno.
If I could clone myself, I would see RÜFÜS DU SOL at Encore Beach Club at Night at Encore Las Vegas. Their live show this past Friday night in Vancouver, BC was KILLER!!! There are few things more satisfying than seeing an artist whose talent is every bit as amazing in person as they are on recording; no autotune for these guys! RÜFÜS DU SOL is already one of my favorite shows of 2019 and if you pick them for your EDC Week Thursday show, I guarantee you’ll leave satisfied.

Have I mentioned how completely mindblown I am by everything EDC Las Vegas 2019? I truly do not know how I will properly manage my time. I am currently feeling like a kid in a candy shop except, this time it’s Kandi. Much like my partner in rave Tigerlily mentioned, we will seriously be in need of a cloning machine immediately. If you have been staying up to date with our previous articles, you may have seen me mention this is my first EDC since the move to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. With that said, I intend to focus my attention on the actual festival Friday thru Sunday. However, I will always make an exception for A-Trak. When I saw that he will be taking the stage at Drai’s BeachClub on Sunday morning I literally dropped to the floor. A-Trak has been a favorite of mine since I first fell in love with his music at Holy Ship! last year. He played an intimate B2B set with Craze and Four Color Zack, who partner as 2¢. I believe it was at that moment that I truly fell in love with this industry and what it gives back to us. Lucky for me I have met A-Trak three times since then; two which I acted like a complete fangirl, and one where I managed to take a decent picture and have a solid conversation. I may be completely burned out by the time Sunday comes around however, mark my word I will pull my life together to be there!
Other than dragging my overly partied body to A-Trak’s set, there are a couple of other EDC Week events I will do my best not to miss. I am flying into Las Vegas on Wednesday, May 22nd, the beginning of it all. To kick everything off, I am attending Illenium at Hakkasan that night. Much like many of my must-see artists, I have not yet seen Illenium play live. I have found much solace in his music. During everything from my Monday morning playlist to my emo questioning of “what am I doing with my life” moments, he has kept me strong. I specially set my trip to arrive for the full experience. I figured starting the week with an artist that boosts my strength was the best way to go!
I’ve mentioned I am 100% unsure how to properly plan my week, so I have the ambition to attend Gorgon City performing live at the new Kaos Dayclub & Nightclub at the early morning (late night?) hour of 3:30 am! What the actual fuck?! Again, I am just truly mind blown so, please excuse me. This is the morning before the actual festival which is where my hesitation lies, yet how can you not attend a Gorgon City set in Sin City knowing the Sun will be rising just a few hours later! I figure I’ll sleep from about 9 am to 1 pm then head to the festival. It all sounds great now, we will see when the time comes.
The bottom line is there are ample opportunities to catch numerous famed artists not only at EDC Las Vegas 2019 but during EDC Week as well. Tickets are remarkably affordable and still available for purchase! Get them while you can. As Insomniac mentioned earlier this week, they intend on a full festival sell out by the weekend. I have no doubt that EDC Week shows will follow in the same manner.
