Dirtybird Records is known for using its well-trained ear to recruit the freshest talent emerging in the scene. Claude VonStroke is a seasoned curator and has done an immaculate job at fanning the flames on its campfire of Dirtybird Players with great success. Such is the case with Diskull and JYNX who make their Dirtybird debut with “Back It Up”.
Diskull and JYNX are fast-rising artists that you should be keeping your ears peeled for. With an impressive resume, Diskull has released on tastemaker labels like Noir Sur Blanc, Brooklyn Fire, and House of Hustle and has quickly earned his talent and trademark sound recognition. The Charlotte local has proved that his skills go beyond production and that he can rock any dance floor. Diskull runs Groovy Bone Records where he is quickly establishing his tastemaker status in the underground. Groovy Bone Records thrives on community which is also how Diskull and Chicago’s JYNX linked up for “Back It Up”. Not to be considered an afterthought, JYNX has also quickly risen through the ranks to make his mark. JYNX has created a buzz in the Jersey Club scene and has an undeniable talent to create ass-shaking Bass, which has translated perfectly into his more recent move to House music. Transcending any definition by genre, his work on respected imprints like House of Bangers, House of Hustle, and OFDM Records is proof that he’s here to stay.
Getting down to business and skipping all formalities, “Back It Up” gets straight to the sweet spot of the funky Bass-fueled heat that Dirtybird is known for. With a plucked lead that keeps the groove right in the pocket and a bassline that’s sure to shake up dance floors, it’s obvious why Papa Claude chose this to be featured on his annual Dirtybird Miami Compilation.
