After one of the most fun weekends of my life, I sure feel like a kid again. Dirtybird Campout resurrects the sense of Play from childhood summers more purely than any other fest I’ve attended, thanks to Claude VonStroke‘s vision of an intimate music festival/summer-camp-for-adults hybrid. Countless games and activities, ranging from classic favorites like dodgeball, relay races and canoeing, to wacky versions of speed dating, scavenger hunts, dance-offs, a ridiculous bingo revival and so much more, supplement a stellar lineup of music in a thrillingly communal way. The DJs even participate themselves as camp counselors, and Claude shows up to virtually every scheduled event, creating a feeling of family amongst all the dirty birdies.
