Chuurch have released a new single with Blak Trash: “Erase The Pain”. This is the second single released from Chuurch’s forthcoming Uunion EP, which will be out in full this Friday as a free download through Skrillex’s NEST Imprint. The experimental production duo Chuurch, which consists of Jeff Wilson and Justin MacLean, are one of the most promising production acts coming out of Canada in recent years, and this latest single is a testament as to why.
Erase The Pain is a slow-marching banger, that builds around a minimalist bass beat. Chuurch slowly work in more percussion and high-end synths that rounds out the bass-heavy production. The psychedelic nature of the high synths coupled with the boosted low end give a feeling of invincibility that pairs perfectly with the risqué lyrical content. Blak Trash’s lyrics are raw and rugged, flowing seamlessly with Chuurch’s industrial production, resulting in a fun listening experience on both the dance-floor and through headphones.
