Experimental pop artist CASANDRA continues to unveil her evolving sonic world with the release of “SOLUTION,” the latest single from her forthcoming EP ISLA TRANQUILITA, arriving May 15. Following recent releases “EXPLICIT” and “PERMANENT MISTAKE,” the track further establishes the emotional and thematic core of the project.
At the heart of “SOLUTION” is a striking duality—bright, hypnotic production layered beneath deeply personal storytelling. Reflecting on the track, CASANDRA shares, “My birth was an accident, and the tension that came from that was something I always felt growing up. That theme has followed me throughout my life, extending itself and spawning sometimes cruelly in my adult life. With ‘SOLUTION,’ I embrace my defiant existence and celebrate creating a home within myself—a place where I belong, where I’m wanted, and where I’m allowed to be everything that I am without restraint. ‘SOLUTION’ dances in the breeze, free and truly alive.”
Her upcoming EP ISLA TRANQUILITA—Spanish for “little island of peace”—serves as a deeply personal tribute to her late great aunt Teresa, a Cuban émigré who played a central role in her upbringing in Miami. The phrase “tranquilita,” often shared by her aunt during moments of stress, becomes both a guiding sentiment and the emotional anchor of the project.
Created during a physically and emotionally challenging period marked by ongoing health issues, the EP became an unexpected source of healing. Through her collaboration with Jaye Locke, CASANDRA found a supportive creative space that allowed the music to unfold organically.
