Turkish-Italian DJ, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Carlita teams up with R&B and dance artist Justine Skye on “WYWD,” a new single out now via Ninja Tune. The collaboration offers another preview of Carlita’s forthcoming sophomore album, Telepathy, arriving November 6, blending club-focused production with live instrumentation, soulful vocals, and understated dance-pop.
Fresh off her summer dance project CANDY, Skye brings her distinctive vocal style to a track that expands Carlita’s sound beyond the dancefloor while retaining its rhythmic foundation. The single reflects the wider direction of Telepathy, an album built around sleek grooves and psychedelic textures that explore human magnetism and the connections people form with one another, their memories, and the places that shape their lives.
Moving between R&B, pop, and electronic music, Justine Skye has developed an artistic identity that connects soulful songwriting with the freedom and physicality of dance music. From her breakout single “Collide” to her role as Annika Longstreet on Grown-ish, her career spans music, television, and fashion. Her latest creative chapter draws inspiration from the history of Black dance music, placing movement, pleasure, and self-expression at the center of her work.
Those themes align with the ideas driving Telepathy. Carlita describes the album’s title as “thinking about somebody or something with no attempt at possessing that thing, only for it to come into your life anyway.” The concept explores forms of communication that exist beyond spoken words, from the invisible connections between lovers to the relationships people maintain with their past and the world around them.
Across the album, feminine energy, driving rhythms, and groovy arrangements bring that introspective concept into a club setting. Alongside Justine Skye, the project features contributions from SOFI TUKKER, Paige Cavell, Stevie Appleton, Malive, and others.
The album’s singles have already marked significant milestones for Carlita at BBC Radio 1. “Manhattan,” her collaboration with SOFI TUKKER, earned her first B List placement, while “Patchwork,” featuring Paige Cavell, secured her first Hottest Record recognition. Both achievements highlight the growing reach of her work as she continues to develop her sound across electronic music and beyond.
The visual identity of Telepathy extends its themes into fashion and photography. Creative direction comes from Pedro Damasceno, with cover art and album photography by Rafael Pavarotti, whose recent work includes projects with Madonna, Charli XCX, Tyla, and Addison Rae. The resulting visual world moves between intimacy and editorial sophistication, reinforcing the album’s focus on the connections that exist beneath the surface.

Carlita’s creative work has also intersected with major fashion houses and publications, including Louis Vuitton, Chanel, FENDI, and YSL Beauty, alongside appearances in Vogue Italia, GQ Italia, and L’Officiel. Her Senza Fine event series further brings music, fashion, and art together through immersive experiences staged around New York Fashion Week.
The release of “WYWD” arrives during Carlita’s busiest touring year to date. Her 2026 appearances have included Coachella, Sónar, Outside Lands, Tomorrowland, Distortion Copenhagen, DC10 Ibiza, Surf Lodge, and Circoloco. Upcoming dates include ARC Music Festival in Chicago, CRSSD in San Diego, Depot Mayfield in Manchester, and EDC Colombia in Medellín, alongside headline performances across Europe, North America, and Latin America.
With “WYWD,” Carlita and Justine Skye bring together their shared interest in the dancefloor as a space for connection and self-expression. The single offers another glimpse into the musical and conceptual world of Telepathy, arriving November 6 via Ninja Tune.
