Hearing an alarm the morning after rave day is by far the worst way to wake up, that is if you even bothered to sleep. Thinking about getting ready for round two may be the second worst. If you’re like me, pizza is the only possible cure. So that’s what I did to prepare for the second day of Beyond Wonderland 2019. I looked closely at the lineup for the day as I continued to eat an entire medium pizza to myself. Water, then even more water, and then I finally made my way to the TV Remote to start my pump-it-up Beyond Wonderland Spotify Playlist. As I mentioned in my Day One Review, sometimes traveling in a group can keep you from festing the way you would like to. Each day, Beyond Wonderland started at 5 PM and went until 2 AM. Unfortunately, I made it there much later than I would have liked, but I danced with the idea and remembered everything happens for a reason.
Literally running through the gates at 7:40 PM just as CRAY was finishing her set was heart-crushing. However, I survived by the likes of Audien, and YehMe2. Dipping into the SkyDeck area of the main stage, Queen’s Domain, I knew Audien was causing chaos in my ears. I recently was introduced to this rising star at AcademyLA in Hollywood. His sound is easy to follow and move with, not to mention his show is one for the senses. My ADD was on fire that night, so midway through the set, I made my way to the Mad Hatter’s Castle, which was hosted by BASSRUSH the previous night. Rave Dad aka YehMe2 aka Trap God was throwing down some filthy music that kept us all wanting more. Lucky for us, he promised to throw a secret trap set telling us to come find him in Wonderland. You better believe at 11 PM I went on a hunt for Dad, but that’s a story for later. In the meantime, I ran off to find the unofficial meet-up that CRAY posted on her Instagram Story, however, I never found it. Although that was a disappointment, Deorro across the way was making up for it! WOW. I had never seen him or even knew of his music before that day. He gained a loyal fan that night. I danced so hard to his epic drops I needed to sit for a moment afterwards.
Thus I was now lost in a world of unknown. Nachos in one hand, a slice of pizza in the other, I danced my way to The Looking Glass. Rather than sitting down to enjoy my food, I walked through in awe and giggled… the entire time. What a dork! Yet as I look back, it was such a genuinely happy moment. The Looking Glass is a tent where a ton of Headliners could take a moment to relax among others with the music going. I was big on following vibes that night, so I allowed them to direct me right back to the main stage where deadmau5 was about to start his beautiful end to Beyond Wonderland. Overall, Insomniac left me wanting more and fully prepared me to dance Under The Electric Sky in Las Vegas this May at the Electric Daisy Carnival!
