To celebrate the release of his new album ‘Feel The Bass’ via ULTRA Records, electro-house pioneer Benny Benassi transformed New York City into a sprawling, high-energy celebration that blurred the lines between live performance, street culture, and immersive fan experiences. Across an unforgettable weekend packed with surprise appearances and headline-grabbing activations, Benassi proved that his latest project is more than just an album release — it’s a full-scale cultural statement.
In partnership with Twitch and the Times Square Alliance, the weekend launched with a surprise pop-up DJ set in the heart of Times Square. Performing live from an iconic yellow school bus converted into a fully operational DJ booth, Benassi delivered an impromptu set that quickly drew massive crowds of fans, tourists, and passersby. Broadcast globally through Twitch, the activation captured the spontaneous energy that defined the entire weekend while reinforcing Benassi’s long-standing connection between electronic music and spectacle.
The celebrations continued with a playful cameo appearance at the legendary Scarr’s Pizza, where Benassi stepped behind the counter as a pizza maker, serving slices and interacting with fans before heading into his official album release show at Marquee New York later that evening. The club performance brought the focus back to the music itself, delivering a late-night showcase of the explosive electro-house sound that has defined Benassi’s career for decades.
On Saturday night, the experience moved skyward as Benassi performed atop The Edge Skydeck at 30 Hudson Yards. More than 1,000 feet above the city streets, the rooftop set unfolded against the glowing backdrop of the Manhattan skyline, creating one of the weekend’s most visually striking moments and further elevating the cinematic scale of the album rollout.
Closing out the weekend, Benassi participated in the TD Five Boro Bike Tour, a 40-mile charitable ride spanning all five boroughs of New York City. The annual event supports Bike New York’s free bike education programs and brought together thousands of participants, including New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who helped kick off the ride. A passionate cyclist himself, Benassi transformed the experience into another unexpected performance by DJing live while riding on a custom-modified Canyon bike, merging music and movement in a way few artists could pull off.
Following the ride, Benassi closed the weekend with an intimate finale pop-up at Mi Casa Studios, where he hosted an open decks session and delivered one final performance for fans. Scarr’s Pizza returned once again for another pizza drop, bringing the celebratory atmosphere full circle and ending the takeover on a communal, underground note.
At the center of it all is ‘Feel The Bass’, a project that reconnects Benny Benassi with the electro-house sound he helped shape while pushing his production into new territory. Featuring standout collaborations like “Superstar” with Chris Nasty, alongside appearances from ARTBAT, Felix Da Housecat, and more, the album blends euphoric vocals, driving basslines, and club-focused energy into a modern continuation of Benassi’s signature sound.
With this ambitious city-wide rollout, Benny Benassi once again demonstrated why he remains one of electronic music’s most influential innovators. From the streets of Times Square to the rooftops of Manhattan, ‘Feel The Bass’ arrived not just as an album, but as an experience woven directly into the pulse of the city itself.
