South African-born, New York City-raised DJ, producer, and curator AQUTIE continues building the vision for her newly launched label and cultural platform, PELE PELE, with the announcement of LATESTATE, a collaborative two-track EP created alongside Brooklyn producer L3Ni. Arriving on July 17, the project serves as the second release on the imprint and celebrates the emotion, freedom, and connection found on dancefloors long after midnight.

Inspired by the pulse of New York City’s nightlife, LATESTATE explores the moments that unfold after unforgettable nights out. Across its two tracks, “AllTheTime” and “Baddiesss,” the duo channels the exhilaration of packed clubs, spontaneous studio sessions, and the emotional honesty that often emerges when the music finally winds down.

Blending house music, Afro-electronic influences, and contemporary club production, the EP balances high-energy grooves with intimate storytelling. “Baddiesss” stands as the project’s boldest statement, pairing infectious percussion with playful vocal moments and an undeniable confidence designed to command dancefloors. In contrast, “AllTheTime” embraces a warmer, more euphoric atmosphere, weaving rolling rhythms with themes of longing and late-night intimacy.

Together, the tracks reflect two sides of the same evening: the thrill of losing yourself in the crowd and the quiet vulnerability that follows once the night begins to fade.

LATESTATE came about when we were having some of our best nights in NYC and fully embracing everything the city has to offer,” explains AQUTIE. “We’d go out one night and come back the next day inspired with new ideas for music.”

She adds, “‘Baddiesss’ is a call-to-action, unapologetic anthem that celebrates anyone who’s not afraid to let loose on the dance floor and look good while doing it. ‘AllTheTime’ captures that late-night, after-hours feeling when you’re missing that special someone and want to be close to them at the end of the night.”

“Together, these records embody the energy, freedom, connection and nostalgia that define the nightlife experience. LATESTATE is our soundtrack to those unforgettable nights that seem to last forever.”

For L3Ni, the collaboration was equally organic.

“This collaborative EP truly captures the energy we both bring to the dance floor,” says L3Ni. “I think you can hear both of our personalities in every track. The music came together naturally, born from some really fun nights out in Brooklyn and a shared love of the sounds and experiences that keep us moving.”

The EP follows a breakout year for AQUTIE, whose performances at major events and venues including Coachella, Boiler Room, Brooklyn Mirage, and Factory Town have established her as one of dance music’s most exciting global tastemakers. Along the way, she has shared stages and lineups with artists including Black Coffee, Keinemusik, Carl Cox, and Skepta, further cementing her place at the intersection of international club culture and community.

Launched earlier this year, PELE PELE extends AQUTIE‘s creative vision beyond music releases, serving as a platform for events, cultural exchange, and community-building rooted in rhythm and movement. With LATESTATE, she and L3Ni continue that mission, delivering a vibrant soundtrack that celebrates the people, places, and unforgettable moments that keep dance music culture thriving.
